Hydras, their own family or Crocs?

So seeing Blizz has lumped some animals into familys they kind of resemble (demon dogs, Hellboars) Its posibe that instead of creating a new family they lump hydras as Crocs.
Now would that bug anyone enough to not get one if they dont give them their own Family?

Own family. Crocs and Hydras have nothing in common.

Their own families for sure, but in all honesty I wouldn't care if I had a Hydra that though it was a Sporebat as long as I could tame them. x)

Preferably their own family, since they are very different from crocs.
However, if Blizz would implement them in the croc family I wouldn't complain, but be happy for hunters that wanted hydras that can now finally tame them them. The more pets the merrier :)

I am ALL for hydras having their own exotic family.

Where would they fit? Cunning? Ferocity? Tenacity?
Personally I think they should be a Ferocity Pet.

What kind of abilities should they have?
I imagine that they should have something Corrosive Spit.
As for what else they should have, well I don't know.

But, if that is too much to ask for, I will settle for them being whatever family Blizzard wants to make them, be it Serpent, Crocolisk or whatever. I just want a Hydra for a pet. :)

Ferocity for sure. We have Cunning Serpents and Tenacity Crocs....we need a Ferocity now.

I'd prefer it if they had their own family, but if not, oh well! I'll take a hydra any way I can get it.

Going by the numbers:

12 Cunning, 2 of which are exotic.
13 Ferocity, 3 of which are exotic.
12 Tenacity, 2 of which are exotic.

Based on those numbers, I do not see Ferocity getting another family. It's safe to say that Blizzard is mindful of what families are out there. The Hydra will almost certainly be a cunning or tenacity pet. Which is more suited is up for debate, I suppose. The Hydra has the bulky body of a tenacity pet, but there is a potential for utility, such as a snare and/or slow down effect. Ferocity is getting far too much love (not that I'm complaining, mind you) to receive yet another exotic family.

None of the pet's special attacks cause damage, so that's a no go. Before the normalization, that's an ability I thought was a shoe-in for a Hydra family, though. Kind of reminded me of Bad Attitude, ironically a Crocolisk's former move.

Don't forget in Cata the one new exotic family we have been confirmed to be getting are Shale Spiders, which are Tenacity Pets, so that leaves Cunning.

I personally don't care *what* they make them. I'd be more than happy with a Hydra, any Hydra!

Just give me hydras. They can be classified as wind serpents for all I care. C:

Hydras should be lumped in with Moths, imo.

Yep. I was counting the new pets.
