OK so I read a post about someone who had less attack power and much less crit then me and yet managed to crank out 3.5k dps in BM ? How is this possible. I can't get that in heriocs. Maybe in a 25 man run with tons of buffs. I'm usually around 3-3.5k dps in heroics. I must be doing something wrong.

EDIT: Forgot to add my dps is in Surv. I don't usually use BM in heroics.

That's about my average on my hunter in heroics, and I'm less geared then you. BM crit doesn't matter so much, but Attack power does.

Also you must realize that there are a lot of guys who lie about how much damage they do.

It was from this forum. I found the post where they claim there dps is 3.5k in BM.

According to female dwarf, they can do up to 3167 solo.
My hunter's about 3975 if she had all of her chants and gems.
You should be doing 4318 with your gear and spec.

It's hard to get a good dps meter as the heroics are so easy now u take down the boss in no time.

I went to Female Dwarf and the dps it spit out for me was 3277.66 which is normal. I just got the complete set of the Tier 9 and I changed my talents alittle. I added in rapid killing and 1 go for the throat. In 25 man I was pushing past 4k.

I lie at around 5k, sometimes climbing up to 6k.

With that gear and spec I expect you do around 3.5 to 4k.

Haha, I've hit 6k before, no lie. Just shows the power of raid buffs.

Ok well it sounds like I'm doing everything right. Good to know.

One thing to bear in mind is that your computer and internet connection play HUGE roles in your dps. People always forget how important it is to minimize latency and have high frame rates. Two players in identical gear can be thousands of dps apart simply because one has more lag.

The main thing (well, what works for me, anyway) is to find your benchmark - the target dummies in Darnassus are great because the lag is relatively low) and then always consider your buffs and your playing conditions that evening when deciding whether or not you're putting out what you'd consider acceptable dps.
