I'm making a Tauren and I was wondering if I should make a Druid or hunter. The Druids seem cool because of shapeshifting and doing spells and healing. The hunters seem cool because they level fast, they get pets, and they can use ranged weapons. I'm leaning towards the Druid right now because I like the shapeshifting and they can use magic. Well could you just give me your opinions.

Really depends on what you want to do. Both classes are good for soloing, so you wouldn't have problems with either class leveling.

Both are also incredibly versatile. The hunter has a lot of ways to deal damage, survive, and escape. The druid can heal, tank, or deal massive damage as a caster or a melee fighter.

So it really depends, would you rather have a pet cat or be one?

As an owner of a hunter and a druid, have both.

Which is better for dungeons and battlegrounds. Is a raid the same as a battleground group?

Are you really asking if you should play hunter or druid in a hunter forum?!?

I just need a flat out answer on which is better. If your wondering why I'm talking about this on a hunter forum look at other people that aren't even talking about classes or races.

This. Both classes are fun to play, even though Hunters are way more fun at low levels - Druids won't start to shine until well past 20, when their cat form gains more useful skills. Druids are a perfect mix of a rogue, warrior and a healer, which enables them to both stealth through packs of mobs they don't want to deal with and survive bigger fights. Plus Druids are the ultimate flyers with their Flight Form. :D Instant flight, no need for a parachute. Night Elf Druids also have the ultimate way of escaping by Shadowmelding out of combat and then instantly flying away (which doesn't help you much as a tauren but meh).

I personally have both classes at 80 and also a 36 Druid and 60 Hunter. Even though I'm a Hunter by heart, the biggest problem I have about them is the lack of self-heals. (Although being able to self-heal would probably make the class REALLY overpowered. <.<)

I love Hunter, but I see more people bashing Hunters than Druids. Druids can fill far more rolls; healing, tanking, they have buffs which can be cast on any player, not just on your group (Hunters can use Aspect of the Pack etc), Druids have Thorns, Mark of the Wild, and another one which escapes me at the moment. Dps is a dime a dozen, but healers and tanks are always in demand, if you want to raid etc., you’ll probably find greater acceptance by rolling Druid, IMHO of course.

As a primarily solo player, I find Hunter easier and more enjoyable than Druid, I have several of both. Also this is more a Pet Forum than a Hunter forum

At 80 I'd say flat out druid. You can fill multiple roles and get groups far easier. Its easier to gear imo and if you get bored of dpsing you can heal or tank. Hunter however is really fun to lvl and will do more damage, but it will take you longer in random dungeon finder and they are harder to play, more buttons. That and a lot of people seem to not understand how cool hunters are or how their moves work, but in general you gotta try it to know whats best.

Funny, I feel the same way but backwards. XD I find Hunters the easiest class by far, must be because I play them a lot. If I don't play my Druid for a while, I will have to remind myself of all the skills I need to use on him, whereas on my Hunter everything comes naturally.

The flat out answer is neither are better.
What class you play comes down to what you want to do in the game. Hunters are a pure DPS class while Druids are a hybrid class that can DPS as either melee or ranged, tank or heal, but not all at once (effectively). All things being equal a pure DPS class will do more DPS than a hybrid. Druids have more flexibility with what you can do, but that flexibility comes with a cost, namely having to maintain and build multiple sets of gear for your different specs. Restoration Druids are amongst the best healers in the game and Feral Druids can do some pretty amazing DPS.

Hunters on the other hand as a pure DPS class have three talent trees all build towards delivering DPS but in different ways, with different tactics. But they are all ranged DPS. The class is a phenomenal soloing class and is fun to play. Druids take a long time to really come into their own.

In terms of aesthetics, as a Druid you will very rarely be in your normal form, you will be in a shapeshifted form so if you're the sort of person that likes looking at your gear pieces and your character model, the Druid may not be to your liking.

The best answer to a "which do I play" is to level one of each until you get a feel for the classes and decide from there. No-one can tell you which is best because neither are best, only what is best *for you* and only you can decide that.

I have both. I'm currently in my druid phase. I love my druid; she's fun to play, she versatile, and she has a more in depth RP description. I found my hunter awesome to level, though. My druid was meh till 20.
