Oh yes. Maybe not to the extent of my stables being full, but it's exactly like this sometimes. I think that I don't need that pet, but then I call it to abandon it and I just can't. I just get too attached I suppose, but that's something I can't help. ;)

I tend to have that problem a lot.
Then again, I also have trouble throwing away old clothes that I never wear. >.<

To soften the blow of "abandoning" a pet, I always /pat and /thank them first. It's a silly notion, but it makes me feel better.

I usually give them a /hug or /pat and a treat first too. :)
And yes, it happens to me all the time. Or sometimes I release them and then realize I miss them, which is worse.

I almost do the same, but I have ALWAYS been taking a screenshot of my pets, when I let go of them :<
Can see tomorrow if I can make an montage of it.
It's kinda funny :>

Whenever I release a pet back into the wild, I don't see it as an end, but a new beginning. I think it would be rather high-handed of me to think they should be at my beck and call the rest of their lives. And who knows? After some time apart we may decide to group up again :)

I HATE that blizz consists in calling it abandon pet... Can't it be something more optimistic?? Like Release into the wild?

I also hate the word abandon... i prefer to think of it as " release, return to the wild, set free.. " etc --- more possitve words then abandoned ..

I dont have problems doing it, i have tamed atleast 10 wolves in order to try and love that pet family and released them again.. just the word abandoned that i dont like.. i dont feel lilke im tossing the pet away, more like that i give it back to where it came from, and if i ever visist the area, im sertant that the pet will remember me, and i always carry a snack in my pockets when i go visist released pets and their new wild families

Gaaah, this.

I remember when I went to go set my Ravager free, when we only had 5 stable slots, so I could go pick up the Kurken. I KNEW 25 slots was on the horizon, so I knew it wouldn't be for long, and I specifically went to the ravager area of Azuremyst first to set him free there so he could hang with some new buddies and cause general havoc for the Alliance.

Then this happened:

I still managed to release him, but man, it was just....the worst/best timing for that random emote. :(

Also I agree...I wish they wouldn't use the word 'abandon,' half the time I go back to the original spawn point or find them a nice location to be set free where I know they'll be okay. It's not like I'm ditching them on the side of the road with a cardboard box and a water bowl. :(

What, the addon that made Inachus nuzzle my hand?

That's PetEmote. If you go to this thread you can get it, plus Teigan's custom-emotes to make pets with less love more loveable. :)

I'm very sentimental when it comes to releasing pets I care for. Whenever I've had to do this in the past I will almost always travel back to the place where I tamed them to let them go. If not that location then one of my choosing (such as Kevin who I let go in Sholazar so he could have a vacation until I grabbed him again).
