Healing in BGs?

Unread post by Bulletdance »

I am honor capped and tho I used to be an avid bg enthusiast I don't do it as much nowadays. So I'm having trouble deciding if I wanna go with m moonkin or tree for bgs in terms of what gear to get. I've never really healed in bgs, but the recent nerf makes me nervous. Is it fun to heal in bgs? Any opinions?

When I do BGs with my Shaman I always heal. There are usually not enough healers so even if I went in DPS spec I'd end up healing anyways because no one else was.

I haven't healed since the nerf but I wouldn't imagine it's that big a deal.

I LOVE healing in BGs. I'm a resto druid, running around tossing HoTs. It's amazing to see how my heals can turn the tide of the battle. xD The set bonuses for pvp gear are a big help, so definitely go for those.

I haven't been in a BG since the nerf, so I don't know what difference it's made, but since people are taking less damage I imagine it's about the same. Maybe you won't have those epic moments (I love imagining the opponent's face. "bu..he was almost dead! WHAT HAPPENED?? O.o;") but you'll still play a major role, and if your fellow PVPers are worth their salt, they'll appreciate your work.

When I PvP on my priest, I use Mind Control for hilarious results, and if I'm in my healing spec when I enter, I heal as much as I can. Its fun to just die too, and watch my team slaughter the enemy with free heals.

Healing in BGs can be tedious, but once you get the hang of it it's fun.

I used to heal alot in bgs as a holy pally. Tried it the other day as a resto druid and i couldnt live for any more than 30 seconds >.<

Guess healadins are harder to pick out from a group than a tree is.

Lil, What does beast lore say about its armor rating?
...
ITS OVER 9000!!!!

Lol trees are tough to kill once you get a hang of it, but yeah, we stand out. In Wintergrasp I sometimes don't pop into tree form to just disappear in the chaos. x]

I would not recommend moonkin for pvp. Very weak pvp spec and people will single you out as a huge owlbear. Go tree or try pvp feral, which is very fun.

I love healing in bgs. :)

Agreed about moonkin vs. tree. Both will cause you to stand out like a sore thumb and get focused. I never geared my druid for owl-PvP, but it was fun running around as a mildly geared tree. If you play your cards right and perhaps pick up a bodyguard, you can go quite far with a tree in a bg.

I don't know what the current situation is like, though; I haven't PvPed on my druid seriously since the end of BC. I just know that geared trees are still a pain in the ass to kill. ;)
