New models are time-intensive, and it simply wouldn't be popular enough (though I agree, it would be AWESOME).

yeah...I'd not tame an ant, plus there are no killer ants in WoW so.....yeah. Thats why.

The Silithid workers seem to be rather ant like, at least imo they do.

Maybe if they changed the head of a silithid collossus with the one of an silithid ant,
and still use the arms of the collossus you can get something mantis like.
but i realy dont know how hard that is not good at disigning.

It's a lot more complex than just throwing on new parts to a model.

Generally you simply create a new model. This is time-consuming, difficult, and boring.

Yup. Thats just step 1. Step two is the pet tree. Step three is the noises it's gonna make....step four is the motions it will back. Step five is the attacks and how they work....so on so forth. Very heavy duty.

Yes. Remember that models are usually created for other purposes first and then made tameable as convenient. They're not generally made specifically for hunters

However if you post about how cool a mantis would be (and I agree) then maybe when they're doing models for the next expansion they'll bear it in mind. Some suggestion that we'll see Emerald Dream in a couple of years, plenty of room there for new beasts.
