I'm one of those insane people who is going for The Insane. Due to this, I am doing tons of running back and forth from Dire Maul to Feathermoon. Every time I run through, I make an attempt to check the arena for the rares. Originally I was there to kill them. Today I happened to have a free slot in my group (I had been hunting a rare in Feralas to tame whose name escapes me just now [EDIT: Snarler the wolf! That's the name]) and when I ran to the arena, there he was: The Razza.

The tame was fairly basic. Run up, let him teleport me, immediately hit tame, and *fwoosh!*. Tamed Razza. No more than a second after the 'fwoosh', however, a warrior bombs in and attacks. I die badly, having only a level 77 totally untrained Razza to my name. But! I had The Razza!

Ressing outside the arena, I started to run back, whispering the warrior with 'Totally worth it'. I find out that he's pissed at me. Seems that if you tame The Razza, the doors of the colleseum don't open. Which means he was trapped. Whoooops! Finally he got a mage to teleport him out, killing me every time I tried to return until he was finally extricated. I ressed, slapped my hearthstone, and returned to Feathermoon to return to my rep grinding. After ticketing a GM about the 'locked door' issue.

Still totally worth it. Now I just need to pray The Razza gets a skin-change!

does he keep "Boss" Status after taming?

He is a level 60 rare elite, as opposed to an actual skull-level 'boss'. So unfortunately, no.

Hmm...trying to remember who Razza is....

The Razza is the blue rare chimera 'miniboss' that spawns in the Dire Maul arena. Drops a random pair of blue BoE, and is usually farmed for people after the orb. From what I hear, he's getting 'relocated' in Cataclysm. And being as a blue chimera skin isn't exactly uncommon, I've got hopes he might get a color-shift at some point in the future. .... even if not, I do love me a rare tame. He's 'speshul'.

oh right! Now I remember. Gosh, I havent done that instance in forever....

It's his own fault for attacking you after seeing that you've already started the tame.

I have no time for people like that.
