King Krush, frustration and getting griefed taming rares

I've been hunting King Krush on my orc hunter for several months now. Well before 4.0 dropped -- probably since about the August/September time frame. Naturally, back many, many moons ago when I was a fresh level 76 and was hunting for Loque'nahak , I saw Krush numerous times. Now that I've turned my focus to the big dino, he eludes me.
The last time I saw him alive (three weeks ago or so), I was on a different realm (Thrall - US). I had just logged in when a fellow hunter whispered me and told me that Krush was at his northern spawn location and she had him tapped for me. I hastily flew there and I grabbed a temp pet. Consumables and macros at the ready, I began my tame cycle. I had about 1.5 seconds left on my tame when he dropped a fear bomb and my tame failed. No worries, I broke out of it and my friends and I let Krush reset to begin a second tame attempt. He did so and we tagged him again and *just* began a tame attempt on him when a level 80 blood elf death knight flew down and proceeded to kill him while I was taming him. A
same faction player... killed him just as I had begun my tame. He didn't even get credit for it, as the loot was for us (I left it on him to rot out of protest).
I was livid. My friends were irate. Needless to say, we had some choice words for this jerk and of course, Blizzard did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation when a ticket was submitted about it (three times). I have since spent innumerable hours circling Sholazar Basin, hoping for another chance to tame him -- especially now that it's supposed to be even easier than it used to be.
This isn't a very fun or healthy way to spend my play time. I obsess over it, but what options are left to us? Blizzard refuses to do anything about it. In fact, I feel as though they actually are encouraging it. The people who grief like this do it and laugh, knowing full well that Blizzard won't lift a finger to help us or to punish them. The responses I got in /general chat on Thrall after this happened were so vile that I've actually transferred servers since.
Anyway, I just needed to vent my frustration to some that will understand and that may have been through this before. Blizzard needs to either put in some sort of protection to keep this from happening, or have a system by which they can award us the pet that we had been trying to tame. I've spent so many hours in that d*mn basin, circling round and around and around and around -- I've put in my time hunting both Krush and Loque. Give. Me. My. Pet.
p.s. - Oh yeah, my first tame attempt on Loque was griefed as well, back in the day. Also by a death knight, but a night elf one. Go figure.

Ugh, you have my sympathies. I suspect DKs come up a lot because they're so popular and powerful (Thus attracting a lot of new AND bad players at once), though I've had a lot of bad run ins with hunters and paladins and druids (Seriously? Killing a rare during a tame just because you can't have it Mr. Druid?).
I hope you get your green dino. It may be easier too, once this shattering business goes down.

Truly sorry for your loss.
I've had this happen to me ........................... 6 times or more I think. Regardless of what server I was on and whether or not Blizz will do something about it I still report it. Every GM I've sent a ticket into about these gankings has been polite and said it would be dealt with but of course they couldn't tell me what happened. Yes of course they could have been blowing smoke up my bum but I did feel listened to for the most part.
I also have been hunting Krush for four plus months and haven't seen hide nor claw of him. The four times he was ganked out from under me mid tame I was on Argent Dawn (the other two gankings were Loque on that server). I changed to Nesingwary and have yet to see him. So believe me hun I seriously feel your pain.
I don't blame you for throwing in the towel. Maybe at this point, you should take a good break from the Basin and rejuvenate. May help. Sorry again.

A part of me just wants to say, your time your choosing what to do with it. You can do whatever you want and if you choose to continue you can't blame a game.
But I feel your pain on the Krushie issue I saw him only 3 times since he came out, and once the 'griefing' was done by my very own boyfriend who lacks the understanding of help ....
Right now it will be alot harder to get the pets we want as we have 25 slots and you are not the only hunter out there, look forward to a same faction hunter taking your tame to

Lucky enough Krush isn't going anywhere so my advice would be to leave him be don't waste all your game time there if you find it unhealthly. You have all the time in the world, I myself will be holding off on getting some pets with Cata coming and when it comes out no ones going to be in those areas as they will be back leveling. So that will leave you griefer free correct? Though I know your going to level to. But it was just a idea.
And yes maybe oneday Blizz will give us a system or a certain shot, maybe our tame pet tags? Or makes the beast immue to damage (But that means as your tame beast stops that immue will go to.)
I do wish you teh best of luck on getting the big greenie but keep in mind to take time away from the game to

I just got Krush on Thrall-US, got him 1:42 am 11/21/2010. Not sure if you are trying to go for him again, or on this server, but hopefully this information leads to a krush tame at the least for a toon on your account. I really like my Krush, and hope one day you get to have him for yourself. Good Luck, and Sorry to hear about your string of bad luck on tames.

Hopefully when Cata comes out there will be less people in the Basin and everyone can get their green dino. I gave up on getting him and Loque a long time ago.

I was griefed a lot by other huters during my search for him. Other hunters would have their tamed Krush active, knowing it would set off my scan, making me log and clear cache. It happened four times in one day, intentional or not, it was still a pain.
But I obsessed and you are right, that's not a healthy way to play. The false alarms were bad enough that I was stressing. So I decided not to seek during weekends and I gave myself an ultimatum; If after a week -excluding weekends-I did not find Krush, I would stop and wait until after Cata. I announced this in g-chat, knowing that the general Petopian population would hold me to my vow.
I did end up getting him before my week was up. Though, I thought I had another false alarm until hubby pointed to the huge green thing on my screen. Even then, he was nearly stolen from me by someone on a sparkle pony, but Fear took that would be ganker and sent him/her running.
During this hunt, I learned two things. One Krush can be a pain to hunt for. Popularity, an achievement target, and being a rare makes everyone gun for him. We had someone shouting in the Basin not long ago that "He's for Achievements only and you are bad if you tame him!". So Krush causes insanity on all sides. But I learned that the tame is worth the effort, too, that was the second thing I learned.
So I suggest this; give yourself the same ultimatum. Set a time limit to your hunt. if you succeed before that time is up, great, if not, you save yourself some sanity and wait. Cata will draw the Basin trolls away, with promises of new and exciting stuff. It's a shiny lure hard to resist. Then the zone will be quieter and your chances will be better. Oh and one last thing, get yourself a red corehound as a temp pet. That might have been my lucky charm.
I wish you the best of luck in your hunting, whether you continue now, or wait until the world changes.

I feel your pain. I hate it when I hear people do stupid things like this. Last night this hunter seen me looking for king krush and he had flown past some gorilla's. He then waited till I was in a spawn zone for loq. He then dismounted and started to kill gorilla's with his pet King Krush..I called him on it in general chat and he tried to say he was farming for skins. I asked him what was wrong with the gorilla's you past over before ? You just happened to pick that location with that pet ?
Then you got cocky people that almost always try to get your goat when u advertise your looking for him in general. "you mean the one I just killed 10 minutes ago?" I even tried last night going out and finding other rares in hopes he would spawn if I killed them. I only found one alive and the other already dead. I had a friend who was in the basin farming and he said he never seen King Krush the entire time. I think when I eventually get the bugger I'm gonna call him "lil shit" because he is so damn elusive..

I'd take a break from actively hunting him. But, I'd camp out when you can at one of his spawn spots. Who knows you might get lucky.

I hate that.. everythime i post a msg asking ppl to kindly help me, i have atleast one saying that... and i get so mad.. if i dont belive them it means search for hours, but if its someone who is just being helpfull... then i forget to thanks the person... the trollers ruin alot ><
as to put a time limit.. i dont like any other Devilsaurs... i just wish that Krush had one spawnpoint, and not every 6 hours, but like every 3... i just want him

Pretty much agree, but I would add that Blizzard has heavily encouraged the DK influx by making them the
only way for a player to reroll without having to deal with the lvl 1-58 trudge through Ye Olde Worlde quests (and pointless quest rewards with +2 sta +9 spi, etc).
Hopefully once cata comes out, more rerollers will be motivated to start from lvl 1 and play through the new lowbie content, so that by the time they are lvl 58 they have had some (recent) "seasoning".
