I don't understand people sometimes D:

Oh hay, my first bad person encounter... I'm sitting here camping Humar again, for my friend now that I have him ( It's in my other topic about rare kittes :D). I told her I'd stay up and get his spawn timer, but seeing as she'll be gone that time tommorow, she prolly won't get him. Ended up seeing him again and waiting around a while while whispering a few hunters. No replies, so I decided to try and whisper a few people farther out. Before I got the chance, a level 80 Death Knight ran up, looked at me and then Humar, and proceeded to kill him. I was on my other hunter, and when I saw him run up I tried to make it look like I was going to tame Humar, hoping he'd get the hint it was for a hunter, but nope, he just killed it. He didn't even loot or skin it. Though he -did- dance around the body a few seconds before running off, making it rather obvious he killed it to spite some poor hunter <sigh>

If anyone plays a hunter on Argent Dawn, and is looking for Humar, he'll spawn again sometime between 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM server... I wasn't sure if he spawned at 1:30 or 2:00, I wasn't paying attention to my screen during that time, and that's when he spawned.

Some people are simply discourteous. Foul knaves who would slay a creature out of malice. I would advise contacting such a person and explaining what they did wrong, but I doubt it'd do anything but make whoever laugh.

I would've given him an earful for that.

That is how the community has become. You don't need to answer for your dickhead moves anymore. You can improve your character by just running groups through the Dungeon Finder with completely random people you'll never again meet, so you don't have to be accountable to anything. Before, being a bad player or a bad person would have prevented you from progressing further in the game, but now it doesn't. And with the amount of pugging involved for raids, no-one cares about their "reputation" anymore.

Was your friend a super low level hunter?

Is this one of those things, where you want Humar just so YOU know that you have Humar. Never mind that you can go tame Pitch in Sholazar, and get the exact same skin?

Pitch is not the same. :)
Humar is a rare of epic proportions. One that was highly sought after for his unique skin for years.
Pitch is just an impersonator.

Also, HORRIBLE behaviour from that DK. Horrible.

She's level 30 (and so is the hunter I got Humar on). We level a bit slow, so it'll be a while before we hit Pitch taming level, and with Cata pretty much right around the corner, it'll be even longer. ( Worgen Rogue and hunter, Goblin shaman, Tauren Paladin... ) She wasn't on at the time, so I was messaging other nearby hunters and asking if they wanted the tame. Granted, no one I whispered showed interest, but I never got the chance to whisper everyone in the area before the DK just came along and slaughtered it.

I know there's that urge to kill a rare, even if its levels below ypu- I've done it on my Druid before. Of course, this was back when I was clueless to just how rare rares -were-. I used to encounter them all the time. Now, if I see a tameable rare, I make it a point to stop and ask the hunters if they want it. Even if no one does, I leave it alone ( Unless it's part of an achievement ). But even after telling the DK no as he ran up, he still killed it. He didn't even loot it, just danced around it a moment and ran off.

And getting Pitch is nowhere near the same as getting Humar. If I were 80, sure, I'd leave Humar to the lower levels, but it still wouldn't feel the same. It's the same concept of people going to tame The Beast as opposed to a different core hound. Now that he doesn't have his boss tag anymore, there's nothing special about him, but I know people still go and get him. :3
