I don't use mods to play wow, but is there any way of getting the pet bar back to the left hand side of the UI?

I use bartender and I love it =)
You can move every bar with it.

I use mods so Im not sure if there is a way via the bar interface menu but if not you should look into bar mods.
Curse has alot of mods and im sure there might be one just to move your pet bar. But if not I would advise Dominos

Easy to edit all your bars.

Yeah, I haven't seen an in-game option to move it either. The best option would be to get a bar addon. Dominos and Bartender are the two I know of. It takes a little work to set it up but it makes your action bars completely customisable. When I used it, I had my non-essential items (professions and such) on a set of bars that faded out until I hovered over them - it opened up a lot of space on my screen.

Bar mods are one of those things I can go either way on.
I used to use them (back before druid form/stealth bars worked properly) and felt they were a godsend, then I realised my play time was cutting back, but my messing-with-bars time was going up, meaning I spent almost as much time messing with my UI as I spent playing. (Note: not a huge problem, still fun and satisfying 'problem solving' feel, but not really the full wow experience

).
Now I have a widescreen monitor, and these days I play without bar mods, and view them as just another addon to update/go wrong on patch day etc. I honestly think they are a personal thing, rather than a must-have.
I'm planning to get one once Cata hits (and is stablised by the first few patches) just because I LIKE making my UI pretty, and like messing about, and I am liable to play a bit more with all the new content, meaning the effort wouldn't be wasted.
I say get one and try it. If you REALLY don't want to change more than you have to, there's an addon called "moveanything" that would let you move the pet bar to wherever you want, lock it there, and never consider the addon again (apart from updating it after patches).

I use "Semi Stance & Pet Bar" off Curse... the only thing it does is let you move around pet and aspect bars, so its minimal and simple to use.

Ohh, i'll have to try that PBcup! The current petbar location on the default UI is a pain in the butt! Whomever designed it to move the the otherside of the screen should be hit with a baseball bat! worst UI design ever!

Hope it works for you Makoes! I like it because it's so minimal - I only wanted to move the pet bar and remove the aspect bar) and it does that. Still don't know why they moved the pet bar though after what, 5 years?? Just one of those decisions that makes you scratch your head.

For the aspect bar. All the other stance/form bars are in that position, so they moved our pet bars. I still think they could have just shifted our Aspect Bar to the right of our pet bar....

The initial change did screw me up at first, but I actually kinda like the pet bar where it is now. It puts the "Attack" button towards the middle of my screen, which is where I like all my important buttons to be. It took some getting used to, especially since it's been on the left for many years, but you grow comfortable with it eventually.
The only time it still confuses me is when I start playing my warlock. Their pet bar is still on the left.
*My biggest UI problem would probably be that only one bar changes when you shift druid forms/change stances. Druids and warriors (but mostly druids) have problems with having too many-stance specific buttons but not enough space on the main bar to squeeze them all in. This means that they have to throw the left-over abilities onto their other bars, and when they switch to a different form/stance, their auxiliary bars are cluttered with useless buttons. It just makes my bars feel very cluttered and impossible to organize in an efficient way.

I dont know how many times I've toggled aspect on/off while trying to make my pet attack, and likewise on my warlock when she learned Metamorphasis.
I just wish the default UI was adjustable. That would solve a lot of peoples issues right there. Drag and drop a bar to where you want it, then "lock" it into place.
Now to go get that addon and try it out.

Semi Stance & Pet Bar sounds like a winner for me then. I fricken hate that they swapped the pet bar to the other side

Re: druid form buttons on other bars:
#showtooltip
/cast [stance:1]Lacerate;[stance:3]Savage Roar
That basic format will let you have buttons that change on shifting. You can also use [stealth] to allow a different ability when prowling. Macros!
The stance:# numbers change by spec (moonkin reshuffles them) but check wowwiki or just play around and see what works for you.

I use the following macro.
/petattack
/cast hunter's mark
as the number 2 slot on my action bar, so I never need to use my pet bar really. I'm telling you, it makes life so much easier.

Me too - well it's 1, with a macro like this:
/stopattack
/petfollow
as ctrl-1

Welcome : ) I was so happy when I found that mod myself so as soon as I saw this thread, it immediately popped into my head.
