Farewell Cairne, and thank you for providing a peaceful home for Anyia throughout all of Classic. Thunder Bluff won't be quite the same without you. The Grimtotem shall know my wrath, this I promise.

There isn't. In fact, there's a quest where you actually save her from being a captive of the Twilight's Hammer. And of course, she backstabs you and takes a powerful, magical thingamajig and leaves you high and dry, promising to kill you the next time.

It's a shame my character couldn't say "Bring it, bitch" at that point.

Magatha Grimtotem, that conniving witch, coated Garrosh's ax with a fast-acting poison. As soon as Cairne was knicked, he was done. Garrosh, in his bloodhaze, didn't realize until after. He had also promised Horde support to the Grimtotem should need it. Due to her subterfuge, Garrosh didn't support her hostile takeover of Thunder Bluff. A lot of Tauren died in this coup.

However, we did gain a new ally, Stormsong.

Was there an actual event in game with the duel and eventual death of Cairne? I'd love to see a youtube video if there is one. :/

Nope. It happens in The Shattering.

Thats neat, I read up on Magatha. She gets exhiled but then gets captured by the twilight's hammer

Stormsong is pretty neat too. I love the tauren politics and storyline, yet I dislike playing as one. I'll be a Goblin Ally of Thunderbluff come Cata!

OMG the last picture is so epic

I will tame arikara now! still haven't done the quest..name it Cairne...and take revenge on magatha wheever i can!
