So the guild leader today figured we would go do 10 Man OS with 3 drakes still up. Well... That didn't go well at all. They wiped a good 15x or more. After around the 10x in a row I got fed up and faked a DC. I can't see how they will ever get to Lich King more less kill him. We have done the first quarter of ICC and that's it. There stuck on the 2nd boss now as we only managed to do the entire quarter once only. People are geared for ICC it's just the lack of Skill I believe. Very Frustrating. I like the ppl in the guild as I've gotten to know them now but man.. Wiping on 10man OS with 3drakes up is sad. I understand it's harder then normal but surely noting like ICC.

It depends what your raiding for.

If your raiding to be diehard on top of progression, a more progressed serious guild might be the one for you. Bear in mind these often require 75% attendance, 4 days a week, for 5ish hours at a time. Not to mention you will have to be top of your game to get in.

If your raiding because you like hanging around with mates, killing stuff, then find a nice casual guild with them (or if thats the one your in stick with it).

The two aren't mutually exclusive either. You can have a semi-casual guild with good progression, they are just pretty hard to find .

Its your call. If you think your guild is holding you back, and you won't miss any of the people around, feel free to apply to other guilds and tell them why your moving on.

I've personally jumped ship to another guild once (when my current one nearly fell apart, I was an officer too :S), but you soon realize the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Now I'd far rather work my ass of with my buddys to kill a boss, than join a guild that already has them on farm. I actually ended up going back to my old guild after a week, recruiting like mad, and now we are one of the top progressed casual 25 man guilds horde side on the server (The key fact is casual, and also that Horde on our server isnt very far progressed haha).

I think ultimately if your unhappy move on, but remember its often far more rewarding sticking with your friends and toughing it out. The amount of people I see that have left our guild over the years, to beg for a re-invite a week later is simply insane

I'm actually in charge of recruitment and managing the numbers in my guild (my hunters an alt), and I had a brief stint at GM, when the current GM quit wow (came back 10 days later haha). And my personal opinion is that if someone is unhappy I'd rather they left, than cause an issue with the other guildeys. Sad as it is, being a hunter your often easily replaced, so don't feel terribly guilty if you do move on

Its your call ultimately! I do think 15 wipes is a bit too much though, and the raid should have been called a long time before that. You shouldn't have to fake a DC in a guild run.

Yah It was pretty bad. I've never seen them this stubborn before. They bought the fake DC though. I don't like hardcore raiding but I do like to raid.

This sounds very much like you are far more ambitious than your guild mates.

There is three options for you then.

• leave the guild and look for another who is more serious about progress
• live with it and stay with your mates
• stay with your mates but look for a raidgroup that suits you better than your guilds approach on raiding

And I think, in a good guild, you wouldn't had to fake a DC. After 10 tries, it's OK to say you've had enough. It shouldn't be to hard to replace a DD.
I'm not in a guild anymore since I tend to leave when trouble is ahead as I have enough problems IRL and don't need more IVL. But all the guilds I've been raiding with had respect for people who said, that they weren't enjoying what was happening right now.

Well I found out later on that the GM who was the tank did not let the drake go for a roll. He decided after all that he was gonna keep it for himself. He pissed off alot of guild members.

You shouldn't ever need to be at the point of fake-d/cing on your buddies. If they're really your friends, they'll understand if you think that it's a good idea to call the raid after 10 wipes and will respect your decision to bail even if they choose to continue.

If the GM ninjaed the drake for himself, that says a lot about how the guild is being run. It also says a lot about your guild's ability to progress. I don't know what things are like on your server, but it sounds like you're aware that OS 10 + 3d is NOT nearly as hard as it used to be, which means that the drakes shouldn't be nearly as hard to come by anymore.

I think your assessment of your current guild's chances in ICC is accurate. The first wing of ICC is puggable. The second is not, and those that come after are even more demanding. Rotface is very taxing on players who can't follow directions and Festergut is another gear check.

What you do is up to you, of course. It sounds like there's a lot of unrest in your guild at the moment anyway, due to your GM's self-serving decision. You might not have to decide alone.

Wow. Just because you're doing it to guildies doesn't mean it's not ninja'ing... If you can't trust your GM to open rolls on a mount, can you trust him with your gbank? With treating everyone respectfully? With non suddenly ninja kicking the whole damn guild? ... I'd gquit.

Well I talked to others and some don't want to raid with him. They rather raid with others in guild or pug but nobody at this point wants to leave yet. We all get along and stuff. I think if certain ppl do leave it will trigger a chain reaction and most of the guild could leave.

I also heard he was showing off the mount in dalaran and bragging about it on vent that he was showing it off.

Also, Blizzard is highly unlikely to do anything about ninjas. They certainly don't on our server, where ninjaing has become practically an art form. -_- (Mind you, that's generally just contained to our server; x-server pugs seem to be less of an issue. I guess the loot is more appealing.)

That's odd, I got a drake after having it ninjaed from me.

I was in a similar situation, but it wasn't a "raiding guild". They were social/pvp/just messin around. When they raided, I felt amazingly skilled... by contrast (not a good thing). I eventually found a great raiding guild, although I still love my old guildies. Great people, just.... not ICC raiders.

Not to mention alot of guilds can get to about rotface before getting boss-blocked. Blizz has been known to put "guildbreakers" up at key points to keep progression guilds pushing forward and those who just want cool ICC stuffs to raid up to that point. I'm just happy that most of the hunter stuff I need is within the first 6 bosses .

One last thing of mention - Just because your guild is "geared" enough to down bosses in ICC does not account for the skill of a vet raider who has done the boss fight before successfully. There are ICC raiders that still fail at Heigans Dance. C'mon. Naxx 10 and can't learn to dance....

We had a guildey, who wanted to do undying in Naxx 10. Invited the creme de la creme of the guild, and said "ORRITE NONE OF U CAN DIE ON HEIGANS DANCE. IF ONE OF U DOES THE WHOLE RAID IS OVER. IF U DONT THINK U CAN DO IT STAND OUTSIDE, I ONLY WANT PPL FIGHTING WHO NEVER DIE ON THIS FIGHT"

One of my friends stood outside, shes kinda bad at dancing lol.

Anyway...guess who died on the first running phase from the lava? THE GUY that had been all serious in vent LOLOLOL. We all cracked up laughing when he died, and told him to think before he rages at people HAHA

He didn't last long in the guild, he was pretty embarassed.

Well I checked my gm's achievements and he didn't finish uldaur till like September of last year. Based on this I'm guessing it will be July/August for a full 10 man ICC completion. Not sure if that's good or bad. It would be just in time for the expansion. Sound like it wont be coming out till fall now..
