Well I was questing around on my Tauren Paladin and randomly came across Ghost Howl. I decided to kill'em since he's not longer a rare (Has a faster respawn timer then) and he drops a quest... Low and behold, when I hit around 80 or 70% of his health, he poofed into an Ghost Wolf! I dunno if it's already been reported or not... Or if there is even a way to keep him as a Ghost Wolf, buuuuuut just tossing it out there.

I didn't get a screenshot off right away, but I'll try to find him and catch a quick screen cap if people want it.

May be similar to the deal with Ghost Paw Runners.

Hrm, very likely. It was a bit of surprise to me, but I guess they don't call him Ghost Howl anymore because he's ghostly white. XD

Hmm if either of these can be worked out. New Ghost Wolf would make a LOT of very happy hunters.

There's already a tameable ghost wolf though...The Lone Hunter.

No, they mean the original ghost wolf. While the lone hunter is alright.... I'd perfer the ghostly/spiritly ghost wolf, over him. And over a spirit beast.

Except the Lone Hunter looks like OCJ. Makes him more awesome IMHO.

That's not the point of what he said tho; basically if there is some way to get a non spirit beast ghost wolf, alot of hunters will be happy. As not everyone likes the Worg model too.

Any idea where he can be found now?

He's always dropped a quest, but I've looked everywhere and can't find him; if he's no longer rare, I assume I'm just in the wrong place

Have you tried taming him after the transformation?

I'm really dying to know where he is... If anyone knows please shout!

On a related note, if you were to make a Tauren character on Nagrand EU atm and go over toward Thunder Bluff, you may see a crazed orc on an Anzu running in mad circles looking for a -clearly- nonexistent wolf

Quest turn-in is still Skorn Whitecloud but he is located at Camp Sungraze now in northern Mulgore.

...Edit--and to make matters worse, The Rake, Mazzranache -and- a new Tauren rare I've never seen are all up and taunting me. I killed the Tauren one just in case, but I can't kill the other two >.> Not with Mazz's babies, anyway!

Yeah, sorry about that. I guess I may just have to roll a tauren (my dwarf can't figure out how to get into Mulgore now!) if I want to figure it out. If I had an EU account, I probably would. Hopefully someone else will take pity and join you in Mulgore!

Okay, found him; he was wandering around the Wildmane Water Well in a big circle. Level 8, tameable--the transform happened when I stripped naked and meleed him once (taking him to around 1/4 hp), and appears to be identical to the Ghostpaw Runner or whatever's buff, in Ashenvale. Reverts after taming.

"Additional Abilities Unlocked" on the buff tooltip. I'm wondering if you could time the tame, though, on either of these wolves, to occur ON transformation. Maybe get a lowbie to hit it as the tame finishes?

That said, he hasn't respawned yet. He either still has multiple spawnpoints, or he's got a rare-length respawn timer.
