I've abandoned all my exotic pets, so I'm eager to try out Marks for a chance, normally being BM/Surv, but most of the cookie-cutter specs I find online are for raiders. Anyone have a nice spec for soloing/Heroics that I can use?

Raiding specs are about the same as hc specs. Just search for a hunter in ensidia or something, that's what I did on Saturo.

I have left one point free which you could put where needed, either in Focused Aim if you're short on Hit, another into Go For The Throat if your crit isn't high enough, Improved Barrage to boost your Aimed Shot crits and bleed proc from Piercing Shots, or Improved Hunter's Mark. Or whatever strikes your fancy really.

Thank you! I took a point out of Rapid Recuperation and put both into Improved Hunter's Mark, I'll use this now.

I'd caution against removing a point from Rapid Recuperation. RR works in that you gain mana after getting a kill because you gain Rapid Killing which is great for soloing and heroics. Raid specs sometimes dump RR because they have more than enough Replenishment floating around, but for your purposes, I think you would benefit from 2/2 Rapid Recuperation.

The risk with IHM is that if you are grouped with another Hunter and they mark the target you marked, your Improved Mark will be over-written and all benefit of the talent lost. It unfortunately does not work like the old days where you'd get the "a more powerful spell is already active" message.

I'd be inclined to throw the extra point into Improved Barrage. Concussive Barrage could be useful for soloing as well.

Ahh, good point. I'll use Improved Barrage, then. Not to mention I only use HM on bosses.
