Yeah, he's flying around. And you don't always get a yell warning. All I got was a wierd sound when I grabbed a quest and everything had a reddish aura- which also I thought was part of the quest and....

*nod* It's one of the new achievements and Cataclysm 'events'. Deathwing can randomly appear in any zone in Azeroth (excluding Blood Elf/Draenei areas I think). It's bad for people that want to get it since it's complete RNG of when he'll appear and you just have to get lucky. >< Not to mention it's been purported to become a Feat of Strength since it's not something that will be around forever.

Yeah it is becoming a FoS it's just I was on the fence about bothering trying to get it and well yeah my advice?

Park a toon somewhere and afk >-> Deathwing will show up. Just stay logged on.

All I was doing was trying to unlock the flamefly quest! ><

I was in Burning Steppes for 2 hours yesterday doing the Flamefly quest chain too. :<

I bet I'll get it on one of my new alts instead of Veph. T_T

T'was one of the strangest tells I've ever had I can tell you D: Not seen or heard someone struck by him prior to this but then we know rng despises me.

Ah yes, confirmation about the retired Feat of Strength aspect.

B@stards! Seriously, they make a totally addictive system that reflects the way we play our characters, and then they make an achievement for a one-time-only world event that's pure RNG??? I hate that so much!




Ok, maybe that's a strong word to use, but it quite aptly reflects how I feel about purely RNG-based achievements.

While I've yet to manage to be in the right place at the right time, so far I've seen guildies get roasted in Tanaris and Winterspring, so I can confirm those two zones being "strafed" by Deathwing.

Well just go and afk in the zone, mean aslong as you're where a toasting can happen the best thing to do is just afk camp. >-> I'm scared to afk on alts now myself.

Once I run out of quests, that's what I'll have to do I suppose, unless I get lucky before that. Only 15 zones to go according to my achievement log... >.>

That's a little disappointing that it's RNG based. My RNG luck is terrible.

Plus...I wouldn't want to just AFK camp for it. I want to actually see it happen. I can't do that if I'm reading a book across the room 'cause I've been sitting here for four hours and can't take it anymore...
