Stable managment... BM woes

(Now, let me preface this by saying that this is a GOOD problem to have. I'm not complaining about the number of new pets, or the stable slots.. Good problem to have.. yes, it is good.)
My stable is a mess.
Really.. it's a mess. I've come to the decision that I'm gonna have to kick some of these new pets to the curb, because there simply isn't room. Let's look at cunning pets. I have 4 Birds of Prey (Aotona, Undead Eagle, Green Parrot and Seagull). There's no way I can justify 4 slots for one type of Cunning pet, especially since I don't PVP much on Slick. So sorry seagull and parrot, it was nice knowing you.. And worms. With the nerf, I can only see keeping 1 worm in the stable. They just won't get used that much. The spirit beast collection is certainly taking up a lot of space, and I already passed on Gondria. Gonna be interesting if I get a chance to tame Chromie, what do I do with Gomagez?..
And it's gonna get worse, lol.
What pets are YOU kicking to the curb?... (or leaving in a box at the front gate of your capital city?)

Ah yes....the once bountiful offering of stable slots suddenly seems to pale in the face of the sheer amount of new pets we got.
Let's see...my releases have been:

- Goretooth, my old buddy from Nagrand. As awesome as he is, I just don't have the room with my purple croc coming up soon, so he can go back to patrolling the lakes and I'll stop by and visit him often.

- I was going to keep one of these since I love mastiffs (I have one in real life), but he didn't quite make the cut against other pets I wanted.

- If I had the room I would probably get every single Demon Dog model. I've always loved these red ones, but I limited myself to just one and I chose the blue Magehunter instead.

- Two scorpids I loved, but when weighed against the upcoming Black Horde scorpion I had to choose it over these.

- Tamed for my tallstrider, Kevin, since it's his crush, but I think it's more fun if she's out in Sholazar. (plus I didn't exactly like the parrot, it was a tame spurned solely due to another pet's personality)

- I had found Skoll recently a little while ago and tamed him again so I had a Spirit Mend, but when my stable quickly filled up he had to go. Meh, wasn't too attached to him still, I mostly just wanted to have the ability. I'll wait for a Spirit Beast to come in the future that I might actually like.

- My wasp was only semi-released. I had him take the form of the new purple Zul'Drak raptors (the colours are almost identical). So while his wasp identity is not around, I think of him having taken a different body.

- I wanted to love this wolf, but Old Cliff Jumper stole my heart instead, so I let the white one go.

- Mm, wasn't really a cut due to space constraints, but I tried the fox and didn't like it at all so I let it go without any regret.

Creatures on my list to tame:
- Princess Huhuran from AQ40
- Chromaggus from BWL
Creatures to kick out of my stable:
- a boring plain silithid for I now have 3 brain bugs... which is ridiculous I realize xD
- maybe Ironjaw, the age of the wolf is over
- white eagle from Sholazar, coz my seagull is so much cooler

lets see, Blue outlands windserpent got released, orange tiger went back to the wild, Jormunger worms are getting downsized, I only need the one worm, just testing out different colors atm to see which I like best. Stormcrow got released back to Blades edge, and blue sithilid got released. Black devilsaur got released, and so did my ancient corehound. Also a fox might be getting released since I have 2 atm.
Still have the blue dragonhawk to tame and test out. the rest are coming in cata. Currently doing random dungeon marathons to level and test pets out in.
Also not sure on the spikey blue crab, have to use him abit more and see if he clicks.

I was wondering while i read Makoes comment, about hunters who are on a rp-server. If you talk about releasing your pets, do you actually go back to their natural habitat and release them?

I actually tend to do that anyways, and I don't RP nor am I on an RP server. I just usually have a strong bond with my pets regardless, and I'll craft extensive scenarios at times of why they have to leave.

Alt hunters. >_>
Kalliope's stable looks pretty good. I have my options set pretty rigidly (one of each buff/debuff/PvP utility type, etc.), so I have things well covered. Alts are where I indulge in things like multiple cats and such.
Consequently, the only pets I've actually had to give up are pets I wasn't clicking with.

Haha, my thoughts exactly.
I was sad to see some of these go, I tend to make up little scenes and stories in my head about Lahni and each of her pets. It's very easy for me to get attached to them!

Sully. He was my Rak'Shiri, but frankly I dislike the new skin. I feel like it's a little boring, so this guy was my first choice to drop. So, he decided to answer the call of the wild and return to his pride.

Aotona. I was really hesitant to say goodbye to this one because, well, it's probably the rarest pet I've ever had. But I also tamed the newly added Brilliant Clayscraper. They're both parrots, though, so I pretended that it's the same parrot, but she had simply shed her feathers and grown new ones as she reached adulthood.

Azhiri. I never really liked this pet because I generally just didn't like wolves, so it was no trouble releasing her.

Wormy. I decided to limit myself to one exotic (Tyrant, my Devilsaur).
I'm
reeeeeaaally contemplating releasing Ugly the Mastiff, but their Lock Jaw just sounds so darn useful and I don't really want to tame any of the darkhounds for one - they just totally clash with my hunter's personality - so I don't know.

This is my situation too. I'm really, really happy with Sarayana's stables and have room for the two pets I want in Cata (shale spider and Ghostcrawler) - only thing is I'm debating whether to let Skoll go since I have Loque and Arcturis. Aside from that, my only species overlap on Sara are silithid - I have Kri and the ant, but they're a pair (Malone and Tallulah

) so they're both staying.
Aoani's stables are a right mess. Completely. I came up with a naming theme I love, but now it's sort of morphing into something more specific (all on its own, I don't know how it happened) so I'd need a ton of Certificates of Ownership to fix it... On top of that I have some sentimental tames I just don't think I want to keep, and that makes me sad.

I've been shuffling my new larger stable about as well. Mostly for me it was pets that I'm just not clicking with.
Ghamoo-ra: I caught this one, planning to rename it Panzer and say Panzer 'got old'. But I just couldn't part with my pink turtle. Panzer is Panzer. That can't change!
The Don: My original devilsaur, he was released in Sholazar Basin in order to terrorize the locals. King Krush was too long a hunt for me, and after the change on Devilsaur attacks, my bond with The Don faded enough that I could release him.
One of my two worms: I have both the black Jormungar and my Grubthor. I'm loathe to release either of them, but it's going to happen. Just not enough space for both, and I already have one worm!
Karazhan Dog: I originally caught this, thinking it was a must-have. I've since decided that I really can do without. They're neat-looking, but it just hasn't clicked with me in the least.

I feel like a bad hunter how. I haven't filled up my stables at all! Silinrul still only has six pets, and Taigi has...seven I think. Mostly those are pets I already had before patch, or ones that I went and re-tamed because I released them back when we had limited stables.
I really haven't gone on a taming binge yet. There are plenty of pets I enjoy, and I love what they did with the new expansion. I definitely intend to get a few new ones. But none of them are OMFG MUST HAVE RIGHT NOW for me. Plus...I dunno, I'd feel really bad somehow if I just went out and tamed half a dozen new pets without getting the time to click with any of them. Maybe I'm just crazy, but in the past I've always been a slow tamer; I will suddenly be inspired to get one type of pet one day, go get it, and then spend at least a level or two or a few days of dalies with that pet alone, like we're getting to know each other.
Yeaaah...I think I'm crazy XD
But as a result I haven't had trouble with kicking anybody out, either, since my stables aren't even close to full yet....
(Not to mention I still need to level the pets Taigi DOES have before I go on to get more. She's a fresh-ish 80 still, half her pets are below her!)

Well, I can't release Aotona, since I have the other two Sholo rares plus I bought the H. Macaw. Pet and mini-pet matching ftw! I'll keep all the Spirit Beasts probably, certainly Loq and Skoll. And I have a few tenacity pets as well.
Still, with the new Spirit Beasts coming, and a few other skins that are still to be seen, more stable shuffling is coming...

I have a large stable question.
If I go to tame a pet now-do I have to have an empty spot on hand-or if I have empty stable slots can I tame and have the pet sent right to my stable?
The pets I want once I can get a high enough level are:

Thus I need two clear stable slots at the least:
I love cats, and I have four-and I want more! I'm trying to narrow down my stable some.

Whom I love and don't think I can part with.

Who I like and keep in fear that the possibility of taming him will disappear. I am considering letting him go.

Who I keep as a nod to my hunter's history-I leveled her as a blood elf all the way to 80 and then did a faction change.

Who I am considering kicking out.

I've thought about kicking out this guy just because I've never used them before-I dont tend to like birds.
----
In the end, to have the two spots open I'm kicking out:

and

most likely...

I have plenty of room in my stables, but I'm really OCD. So I went on a kicking spree last night and I'm back down to about 10 pets. A lot of my pets overlap, but overlapping is fine to me, as long as I'll actually *use* the pet.
I ended up kicking my Mining Monkey, Monstrous Parrot, and... something else I don't even remember... Mostly due to the fact that when I sit down and thought about it. I really would never use them

I gave up my turtle since I love my wiggly antennae beetle dance.

I'm sorry Ninja. I released AdamWest the Sporebat for now since I felt bad - I like, NEVER used him.

Did it twice already.
First time I got all cats I was wondering about.
And that was it - stable was full :O)
So all those nice-skinned-rare-looking-days-spending-for-tame kitties ---> back to wild.
So what I got now:
Röttá,
Viðärr,
Sigföðr &
Mjöllnir (Loque, best cat in the game) - 4 Spirit beasts (will keep them, its like a collection :O) )
NoaNoa - Ghost Saber, this cat was with me since I hit lvl19 'till 80.
Níðhöggr - croc, just a reg croc. But how I can trow out my tank-buddy, if he was able to solo Baron Geddon by his own while I was on the phone?:O) It took him 13min 46sec tho, but at the end he was full on health and looks as fresh as before fight:O)
Probably will repaint him in white color...
Hróövitnir - wolf from Ramparts, my old raid buddy...
Báléygr - The Beast. Its says all:O) Even without lovely tag
(but with 21 talent points) O:)
Björn - I've always dreaming 'bout dog as a pet... Just for fun? Its a game after all:O))
Skögúl - want and need second tank-pet, and after 4.0.3 new skin look rock:O) As soon as I get 81 I'll get her @burning sister@ :O))
Snær - just an ordinary gas... ups, I mean not ordinary Uhk'loc from Un'Goro.
Nött - last, but not least. Oiled wolf from Tundra. He is simply rocks.
Deep black, with black smoke puffs... Never saw it as a pet on my server. My all-the-time-with-me pet now. Unique.
KK, whats left?
Rotting Agam'ar - he is black (my favorite color) and armored.
Shy-Rotam - after aqua cat is no longer so hard to get...
Ironhide Devilsaur - just 'cos it's a raptor, and he is black with stripes :O)
Terror Spinner - better kill him for achi...:O))) But at least one spider in collection.
Nuramoc - 'cos he is rare?:O)
So not sure I'm gonna keep last 5 and probably will let go some of the named pets. But its so hard to decide :O(
Especially when you want to keep all your old friends :O(
Damn I need help!!!!

My main isn't even BM so I guess the woes can extend to any hunter who simply enjoys the hunt.
So far I've released (since 25 slots became available):
- aqua and purple riding sabers (sadly I don't like the model, just the color)
- red fox (very disappointed about this, but I found his vanishing eye glow too creepy)
- white tallstrider (the color didn't sit well with me)
- red dragonhawk (didn't like the way it moved, but oddly I don't mind it at all with my Dranei)
- green netherray (for some reason the eyeglow plus this skin just bothered me)
- brilliant macaw (miniwing) (I liked it better as a minipet?)
- blue chimera (tried BM on secondary spec for about an hour, changed mind)
Considering releasing (because of stable space):
- white bear. Only if/when the blue or polar skin becomes available!
- Aotona. I feel really guilty about this because I wanted it so bad and spent a week camping it and have the minipet too, but I just haven't made a connection with him at all. On the other hand the white parrot I nearly cried over because I thought of my old pet bird from the moment I saw it.
- Lupos. I had him back in vanilla when he still did shadow damage, then abandoned him when they removed that. I didn't connect with him then and still haven't connected to him now.
- green cat. Love the color but... I know others have mentioned this, but I hate how the normal cat face has the eyes so close together and they look like they're smiling too, which... bugs me. So I prefer the hunched models because you don't notice that.
- pink-purple netherray. Only because he's the newest in my stable. We'll see how he pans out.
