Stumped on naming...

Okay... with the new expanded stable, I decided to go taming some new pets.
Alongside my original pre-Shattering set - Kyra the green Raptor, Tonka the red Gorilla, Archimedes the red/purple Arrokoa Owl, and Blacklight the green Scorpid...
...I now also have a red Dog from Scarlet Monastery, the ghost cat from Darkshore, the ghost-wolf Lone Hunter from EPL, and a black Beetle from ZF.
But names completely escape me for these new beasts... Help me name these new pets?

Isn't this what the
Name That Pet forum is for?

Any gender or meaning preferences? Makes it a bit easier to narrow down what names we should find.

And don't worry, the thread will most likely be moved to the Name That Pet subforum sometime soon.

As far as the kitty goes, I named my Loque Himani because it means "snow" or something like that and I think it would fit your ghost kitty, too :3

well, the two canines I see as both being male, and the ghostcat is female... dunno about the beetle - bugs are hard to identify.
If it helps with naming ideas, of my other pets, Kyra is female, and my oldest pet, seeing herself the unofficial matriarch of the group, then comes lazy-but-fearless monkeyboy Tonka, then snooty and arrogant Archimedes, who is basically a male belf with feathers, and lastly is Blacklight who is skittish but loyal, and of uncertain gender.

You make them sound like a family. Maybe you could use character names from a book or movie that has personal meaning for you. Not necessarily use the names as-is, but as a starting point for inspiration.

I don't know how much you like Poe, but
Samsa seems like a great bug name to me.

I named mine Rorschach though, it suits the white/black beetle so much! <3
I always thought the name Cellophane was cool for the ghost kitty. Mine's named Tama, which is Japanese for jade (because of those green, green eyes).
One way that always helps me find a name is to pick an attribute of the pet and run it through google translate. It's how I came up with Arashi (Japanese for storm) for Skoll, Tama for the ghost saber, and Hokori (dust) for my blue moth (back when their special was the dust). Lately I've been toying with the idea of using Italian colour names for some of my pets.

All these names have something to do with the animal's appearance.
For the ghost leopard, maybe...
Aislinn/Aisling/Ashling/Isleen - "Vision; dream".
Tien - "Angel, fairy, spirit".
For Lone Hunter, maybe...
Achak - "Spirit".
Drogo - From the Anglo-Saxon word drog, meaning "ghost, phantom".
Dusan/Dusek - "Ghost, spirit".
For the SM pooch...
Ruskin - "Red-haired one".
Rory - "Red".
Rurik - "Red".
Bayard - "Reddish brown".
I'm a bit stumped on what to suggest for the beetle, though. D:

Isleen is a good name. I like that. Not too sure about the others.

I have a ghost saber I named Borealis- when I first started playing WoW, I saw a ghost saber randomly in a city. The Northern Lights, or the Aurora Borealis, is a phenomenon that doesn't happen all that often, and I used the name because the ghost saber was something that was a nice suprise. Now I know that there are more harder-to-come-by pets than the ghost saber, but it stuck.

Great beetle name...but "Metamorphosis" is Franz Kafka, not Edgar Allan Poe. Come to think of it, I may have to use that one if I ever tame a beetle myself.

You know, I knew that as I posted it, and I still wrote Poe >_< Samsa is actually one of those interesting Kafka names that mirror his own name.

Update:
Named the ghostcat Aislinn (as earlier suggested) and the wolf Ulfric (old germanic meaning "wolf strength"). Decided to abandon the beetle - wanted one of the Uldum variety instead, and they're not out yet. Grabbed a black devilsaur in the meantime, named her Maleficent (after the black dragon/witch from Sleeping Beauty). Mastiff is named Winston - debating on whether or not to trade the SM red one for the black ones in Dragonblight.
Gonna be heading to BWL later tonight with guildies, gonna walk out with Chromaggus - or rather, Ormagoden the hellbeast, heheh.
