Hello all :] I'm very extremely new so please bear with me.

I currently play WoW when I'm not away at college so I haven't really played since October :[ I was doing some reading on the pet changes [I'm very sad that my precious Araga skin will be common :[ ] and I was just wondering what people felt was the best tanking/soloing pet? In Cata I usually did dailies with my kitty Kohta and if things got hairy I would take out Xuihcoatl my warpstalker. From what I've read and have understood, my warpstalker won't be so fabulous anymore. I was using him for the reduced damage he took after warping. I was like "Oh... well then maybe I can get a worm when I dual spec." and I read that when the worm uses their special burrowing thing they drop aggro :/

Anyway, what do you guys think? I guess I could go old school and get another bear but they aren't really my favorite. Thanks for any help you can give! I can't wait to play again in December after I finish my finals!

Aaaaand just as a random question... do you have a favorite cat skin?? :] I really like my blue saber but the purple is just so pretty x___x I am DEFINITELY planning on camping/waiting around for the spotted saber... That was what my very first mount looked like [back in pre-BC! X] ] so it feels kind of special to me

Well, that just leaves you with turtles and the wannabe turtles known as beetles. Great for tanking and soloing anything that hits like a truck.

If I have to choose between a bear and a bug or turtle then I will definitely choose the bear. X] Just have to choose which color I would want. They feel very plain to me >___<

I use my worm still. The loss of burrow for tanking while sad just puts me back were I was before the patch. Besides, MD plus exploding trap, multi-shot and thunderstomp work fine for generating initial aoe threat. With the new MD glyph it is hard to pull threat off your pet unless there is an aggro dump or target switch.

I think the warpie is pretty fantastic - an aoe slow is GREAT for grinding a pack of mobs, especially something with runners. Personally, I'll have my beetle, my worm, and my warpie as the three stable tanks in my active slots. My boar will be coming out on occasion, but that's only because I love 'im.

I <3 my Gezz and beetle. I can't wait for an uldum beetle though.

There are always a bunch of neat piggy skins to choose from (Piggies are cute, make cute sounds, and eat almost anything! Which isn't as useful as it once was, with the Mend Pet glyph... But still interesting!). Or you could get a shale spider in Cata, they look pretty spiffy. Crabs may not be as adorable as piggies, but they have a lot of character to them, and there are some neat skins for them too, with more on the way.

So is it okay to get ANY tenacity pet with that new glyph? @__@ I also saw a video with those bugs and ohmygosh. They are HUGE. I will probably have to get one just to have a GIGANTIC BUG following me around.

I am also going to tame King Mosh for all those times in Un'Goro where he has stepped on me and kicked mah butt.

Pretty much. Worms used to be king for AoE tanking but hey.

I think I might end up getting a cute piggy. They feel so... orc-y for some reason. :3 and also they're cuuuute. I like the grey bear too but those red eyes creep me out a little.

But, in the cute category of tanks, I think that bears rank pretty high thanks to Rest. That is, unless you tame a diseased bear

Quite Honestly, I can tank just about anything (Raid/ a few heroic bosses aside) with any of my pets. Either my Tenacity pets take the damage and hold aggro, or I lay waste to my enemies while nuking 'em with my Cunning/Ferocity pets.

Do not want rabies! D: I'm leaning towards a brown bear named Chunk... or Chocolate... or something. But with all these stable slots open I can do whatever I want! IT'S CRAZY!

I mostly want the tank pet because I know that things will get out of hand for me very quickly. I'm actually not very good at the game, rofl. I mostly just like collecting the pets, mini pets and mounts. :3 SO, if a tank pet will help me live a minute or so longer then I am going to get one!

I used to have a stable of 4 out of 5 of my pets being tenacity. I'm a tanking pet lover.

For my choice, I like Turtles for the heavy-hitting elite-type things (good ol' Panzer!) and my pretty blue boar for most casual grinding. I have a worm specced with heavy-hitting items for dungeons, so I have AOE on-hand when needed (they may drop aggro but I don't mind standing in the middle and taking the damage while the worm 'attacks').

Don't forget the boars in Outland (Hellfire Peninsula, Shadowmoon valley...). They're great tenacity pets as well

Personaly I got a black and green felboar from Shadowmoon Valley (named Thorium, 'cause he really looks like thorium ). Those demon-like animals don't make the same sound as piggies (which I dislike) ans they look awesome !

Yeah, my boar is the grey/green one too (named him Absynthe) and they really rock.

Since how long are the felboars tameable, by the way? I remember they weren't back in tBC, but on the Cata beta I could tame one (named him "hellpig", I know, not very original) and immediately became fan of it. I still don't know if it fares better than the bear.

I LOVE boars! Sounds are awesome, that cute Oink! makes me smile every time.
So I'm very disappointed that outland boars don't make those sounds, according to you guys. ...And I've warmed up to my Warp Stalker, JethroGibbs, so I'll either go back to the regular Black Boar or just stick to Gibbs.

As for OP's 2nd question, on favourite cat model...
I don't know! I love them all! I could never decide which one I like best, so I just got most of them!
Now my friends and guildmates decided which cat will be my main kitty in Cata: Sian-Rotam (or Echeyakee, same skin)!
I do love that model. I suppose together with Humar and King Bangalash, they are the ones I'm fond of the most.

OMG I have that same Turtle with the SAME NAME!!

I picked Donatello because that turtle looked wise, and Don was the wisest out of the 4.
