What would YOU pay for a pet..

I really want Chromagus but my server and guild are proving worthless to that effect. I can't get a run. I'm considering offering gold, but I probly have 1800g to my name, and I don't have a lot of time to farm.. how many people would I need, and what would you suggest I offer up front?

Be patient. I found a pug group on Saturday doing BWL for the achievement. If that's all the cash you have, don't spend it on him.

What is this patience you speak of... I am no priest.
Bad joke, but yeah, I'll try to wait it out >_<
I'm just afraid he's an "oops!" tame, and by the time I get a group he will be patched out..

I kind of understand what you are going through. When I farmed Aotona, I almost had her one day when an Undead DK came by and killed her for thrills. I had farmed for months, at that point. The night of the tame, I was flying around Shozolar, and said in general chat that I would pay 1k to anybody who saw Aotona and I was able to tame her.
After several hours straight of farming, a buddy asked me to help him with a quest in Icecrown. While there, I get a whisper from somebody, saying that they remembered my name and Aotona was up. Heart pounding, I flew straight to Shozolar, and ended up with a successful tame. When I opened a trade, the person said that they didn't want my gold, and that they were just doing what they thought was right.
I had farmed Aotona for MONTHS, with no luck. With much coercion, I finally got the person to take my gold because I was so thrilled.
In your case, I don't know if I would pay to get Chro. Find a group of friends, and ask them to go with you. Elementium ingots drop from some of the mobs there, and they sell for quite a bit on my server. For the obnoxious and psychotic pet collectors (like me), the engineering schematic for the Lifelike Mechanical Toad has a low chance of dropping from Nefarion. That could be incentive. Or, if you have hunter buddies, say that you'll be willing to go with them to get Chro the next week or whatnot.
In any case, good luck!!

If Chromaggus were an "oops" tame, he would still be labeled as a dragonkin. Blizzard pretty obviously went out of their way to make him a tameable beast, same with the brain bug bosses.
Now with that out of the way, it only takes 3 80s who know what they're doing to clear bwl; a few rl friends, myself, and sometimes other guildies clear it weekly. He's probably not worth paying all your gold for (just in case you end up not liking him), just keep trying to find people to help you.
If you were on Suramar, my friends/guildies would be more than happy to help, its just about finding the right people. =)

I mentioned it to my GM the other night and he told me that he was just chillin for a few more days until he lost his house and became homeless.. he was the only person who had volenteered to help..
kinda seems not important in light of that, ya know? Nothing I can do for the guy though..

Tell your guild members that you want him really bad and ask them if anyone would mind helping you get past just the first two bosses-once you do that-if you are 80, you can solo the rest.
I don't have a big guild-its just me, my lower level friend and all our alts. I ended up paying 500g for a pug to get me through. And it wasn't much work for him-he had the instance already saved to Chro, I just had to run in and tame.
I've heard others who have payed between 300g-800g for groups.
It's up to you if you think it is worth it-but task your GM first. Maybe when he sees that you are desperate enough to pay for the tame, he might get some guild members together to run you for free.

I managed to get one friend to go with me, and then snagged 3 others (got lucky in trade). I paid 'em all 200g each to help out and they were pretty cool about it (and I got a good chunk of gold back from all the crap that drops)

I hate this- almost like a day or two after the patch, when my friends and I started an attempt for BWL we saw atleast half a dozen alliance alone, lv 80 loitering about. Not one was a hunter/not one hunter joined up. And well this just proves why- get a group go kill some crap, clear trash and not only do you profit, but then you sell your lock to a hunter, for more profit!
It's disgusting and it's making me glad I'm gonna be able to help out a hunter later this week to get his chromaggus tame.
I can understand paying repair bills- but anything beyond 100g? Yeah no, gtfo.

So I asked my guild and in trade chat, offering gold and whatnot for BWL runs, nothing. I got frustrated and decided to go for the deadmines parrot. As I fly through westfall, i put out a /1 saying any lowbies who wanted to come, lets do it. got 3, went in. we did 5 runs, and i said ok, time to try for BWL again. one of them said "Hey, we can help!". Apparently two of the lowbies were friends, and obviously had mains. 2 hours later...

I got my chromaggus by simply doing /who blackwing lair and the results where a 4-man group doing it. Whispered them, paid them 1000g for the tame and got the nef head & BWL achievement
Well spent gold
Also, is there a chance for this pet to get removed? due to the lore behind it

There ya go!!! Nice work
You never know who the mains of a lowbie are...
I think its funny when I talk to someone who says "you don't know what you're talking about, you're only 23" <--- That just proves that they have no idea what they're talking about generally.
~Tipping note, I paid 1000g to get King Krush (500 to 2 different players) for helping me contain him and buff me etc (when tame was 20 seconds). Even though I don't use him much, he was still worth it for the epicness of experiencing the tame

Is getting to Chro and clearing BWL more or less the same thing, or can you can manage with fewer people by skipping trash/bosses/etc?
Also, does anyone recall whether this could be solo'ed by a lvl 83-85 back in beta?

As an 85 hunter I could solo parts of some level 60 raids, as along as the boss didn't have some very specific mechanic. I never got a hunter to 80 before, so an experienced 85 hunter should solo BWL without major problems IMHO.

I made an attempt, after soloing MC, ZG, and AQ20 - but I struggled and found it impossible to kill the first boss in BWL due to the mechanics of the control orb and the adds combined. has anyone here found a way that we might be able to do this come lvl 85?
(All I can think of if if there is some way that a pet on full aggro can kill/hold the many, many adds at bay while the hunter controls the bossman - but that seems to be impossible at 80.)
