This is from the list of Hotfixes deployed today (December 2nd):

Hunters
* Silithid Swarmers are now tamable by hunters.
* Hunter pets that changed pet families prior to patch 4.0.3 will no longer retain their previous talents on top of the new Cataclysm pet talents. Hunters will have to untalent their pets to pick up this correction.

So, rejoice, and tame your ants!

As for the second part, that doesn't look like a hotfix...

What I think the second part means is, that the pets that did carry talents from one tree into another, won't have any talents from the old tree anymore, and to get the new ones properly, would have to reset their talents.

Aw, darn. Someone got it before I did (about the ant). It makes me halfway sad. I no longer have an awesome retired pet. *AGAIN*!

On the plus side, this means a lot of other people can get their awesome silithid ants.

.... on the minus side, it still doesn't make it any easier to decide whether to drop Ainamiss or my ant, like I thought it would. Because I love them both so.

My Ant has a spot in my ranks with her other sisters.

Sandy (Purple Silithid)
Cindy (Tan Ant Silithid)
Mindy (Yellow Silithid Wasp)

Yes, they are the Magus Sisters.

I guess this means we may see more of the Ant-style models become tamable soon.

Where you tame them all at? i tryed get green ant from tanaris and not tamble..

Oh I'm so glad! The ants are really nifty, good to see they're being given some attention. I had grabbed one of the Silithid Swarmers on a whim the night before 4.0.3a on my troll, but I'd much rather see them non-retired.

Only the tan one, in Southern Barrens can be. I know the Horde gets a quest to throw fire down the silithid mounds, and like 6 of them come out to attack. Only time I've seen em.

Minor point to the Swarmers: They still think they are Scorpids, as they drop scorpid leg parts for trash greys.

When I read this I could only think of one thing....

I can let my ant go now and not feel bad...

...more room to tame stuff!

When are all the most recent "hotfixes" going to be implemented? My flying pets still fly and The Secrets of Uldum still can't be completed. :[

Many hotfixes require your realm to be restarted. I know the change to the Horde's [Ashenvale Quests] achievement went live instantly, cause I had 73/80, and now it's (backend anyways) only 62 total to get it, and I have it, yet it says 73/80 in it's progress.

So, wait til that happens.

As to where you can tame them: Goto your faction's main base in the Southern Barrens. I know the Horde need a quest to make them spawn now. I guess the Alliance is the same.

Zero could you take picture where about and location it be a lot easier for everyone thanks!

Im pretty sure they are not tameable, just tried 5 of them.

Woot, this is good!

I honestly didn't like the model much but I tamed one on my hunter JUST because of my inner collector and rare hunter told me to. The ONLY reason I kept it in my stables was because it was unobtainable. Now I can release it with the comfort of knowing if I want it back, I can get it back.

I'm also very glad for hunters (current and future) who missed their chance now can get their pet!! Congrats to all you guys.

Hold on no1 can tame it yet so you might wanna hold it til we have PROOF!!!! He didnt explain how get it... i cannot tame one yet... needs more info!

Again: Not all Hotfixes apply immediately. Alot of them that change actual in-game interactable elements (like quest objectives, NPCs, etc) require a server restart.

And I can't grab a SS right now, but I got the quest names:

Horde: Silithissues
Alliance: Working the Bugs Out

Objective is the same: Use Bucket of Burning Pitch (quest item) to throw on the Silithid Mounds (they are the white things sticking up out of the ground around the Horde (Desolation Hold) and Alliance (Fort Triumph) fortresses in the middle of Southern Barrens), to call out 5 Silithid Swarmers per use.
