Any info on Sporebats in the Future?

As the title says, I would like to hear wether anyone has heared anything about Sporebats in the future.
There are currently only 3 different ones, and they are áll common. (the unique one is easy to find at any given moment)
I have a feeling blizzard isnt showing much love for the sporebats, because the players aren't either...

So let me explain to you first why I love mine so much :)
Even though they seem simple, they have the most amazing animations
examples:
A normal attack where they Spin! (If he uses it last, he comes back to you spinning because it was still in that animation, priceless)
A normal attack where they make a somersault :O ('nuff said)
and his special spore attack animation where he just waves the smoke with his Flappy things. (It looks most like Dumbo the elephant trying to fly)

As for the Ability's effectiveness, it comes out handy in many situations, you will notice as you have only "just" survived that enemy mage in pvp because his fireball wasnt ready yet, or big flocks of mage creeps in dungeons.

I love the entire feeling around Zangarmarsh and its Sporebats, its hard to describe, "Soft and Mystical" would get closest to describing it.

I hope this will make some of you give the Sporebats a chance, and have a look at them, because I knów 90% of you hasn't :P
I Recommend taming the Blue one, its most beautifull, a good alternative would be the brown one, its a matter of taste, I dont like the green one.

Happy Hunting!
~ Griffley

PS: Any information about sporebats with visual effects in underbog etc will be rewarded with eternal gratitude.

Sporebats can be cute, but they don't seem very powerful. It's like having a butterfly in combat :D. And they annoy me when they fly in your screen all the time :( (I actually do not like hyper pets that animate a lot).

But for the rest, I agree with you. The blue sporebat looks nice, and it totally suits Zangramarsh. I like it when someone else has a sporebat, then they look quite nice. I actually understand what you mean by people not giving sporebats a chance. I did the same :P. But if someone sees this picture, they will rethink about it:

(Pretty sporebat is pretty)

I don't think there's much hope for sporebats in the future, unless we get some kind of Outland revamp. Spore bats are almost entirely endemic to Zangarmarsh, and I don't think there are any even in the mushroom areas of Deepholme.

While I hope some of the pet families got new models, or at least new skins, spore bats in particular don't seem to be likely.

I think the sporebats are one of our more interesting pets, but need a skill revamp? Or a truly rare model? They glow! I keep taming and releasing one just to see it with me at times. After reading your post, will go give them another look.

I love other pet addicted folk.

They are interesting but sadly, not really strong. I really wish Outlands would get revamps and sporebats became.....useful.

What visuals are you talking about? I just ran all of UB and they're just normal sporebats. About to check to see if the wasp's glow effect in UB is normal.

Edit: The wasps may keep a slightly brighter glow, but it's so faint if it's even there that I can't tell if it's kept after death due to the similarity. Might have more sparkles that's it.

I would love for more Sporebat love! A new model would be nice even I could think of a few elemental designs for them, I have always had a Sporebat. Currenly Lilatha doesn't due to I was told I HAD to have this or that pet. But you should see my Hunter alts! I love them they are so squishie and cute >u< Their attack I find is useful if you know how to use it that is :)
I remember taking mine though ICC a couple of times <3 It always brigthen the raid up and kept us going most of the time. Yes simple things keep me happy and the Sporebats will always be at the top of my list! I remeber farming the rep just to have my sporebat and a mini Sporebat around me <3

I'm a big fan of Sporebats - was hoping to see some new ones with the mushrooms/Zangarmarsh models in Deepnholm, but apparently not.

Oh, They're normal SPOREbats. Just no glow effect. Sorry about the misstatement.

I still have a set that matches a Sporebat /blush! Im a total fangirl for these cuties I can't believe people think they are weak since all pets do the DPS now ... It's up to you to know when your pet should use their attacks! I was really hoping for atleast one tiny lil' new model to slyly find its way into Cata </3 But you can't have them all :)

After giving it some thought, I think they definitely need a new model. When I was in Zang on Andine and I was looking for an appriopriate looking pet, I looked at a sporebat at one point and thought "hmm... meeeh", and tamed Nether Ray instead. I mean, it just looks unattractive for an average person. They are just kind of... bland. If Blizzard could create a model with some special effect, I might get one.

I tried one and thought it was neat (the green or the brownish one, I can't remember). What bothered me is that it doesn't have any really identifiable eyes. I'm not sure if those swirly things on its face are eyes or not, and it just creeped me out.

I can't really picture sporebats outside of Zangarmarsh, which is a pity, as they are the smallest of all the available pet families and could really use the love. Even just one new color, perhaps a purplish one (maybe one's lying around somewhere?), would flesh them out a bit. I think there's two sets of green sporebats in the zone, so changing one set wouldn't be a big deal.

The trouble with their family ability is that it works like consecrate and goes on the ground, rather than on the enemies. This is deeply troublesome for PvP, which restricts sporebats to PvE...and even there, if a boss or trash moves out of the spore cloud puddle, the effects are nullified. If the sporebat's target kept the debuff regardless of standing in the cloud, then it would be a completely different story. THEN sporebats could compete with corehounds in terms of debuff application, and would, in fact, be a more appealing option in some cases, since secondary targets in the area would also have their casting times slowed (so long as they don't move away from the initial target area). Corehounds still have ancient hysteria to remain appealing. :)

I do have a sporebat; I'd just like to be able to use him more often. :)
