Red Carrion Beetle @ lvl 39!

First post...I actually registered to post, as I've been using the site a lot lately.
For any beetle enthusiasts, I've found a way to get the red carrion beetle at 39, instead of 57ish, which is the lowest lvl the site lists for being able to get these fellas.
Go to EPL, and the northwestern edge, by the river, there is a tunnel. In this tunnel there are Crypt Horrors. When you attack them, if you kill them slowly enough...as I only had it happen twice, and tested the taming on the second, they will summon a red carrion beetle. There are tameable!!!
Now...mine did die shortly after the Horror did, I think the summoned version has a duration. But you can revive pet and it will come back and be quite permanent. I've had mine about an hour or so.
I hope this makes at least one other person as happy as it made me lol.

Oooh! Great find, thanks!! My future goblin will have her beetle so much the sooner.

I second this! Congratulations on making a lot of hunters very happy, I'm sure.
I actually started to make worried noises about the level difference and whether the threat could be pulled. Then I remembered 'Oh yeah. EPL has been lowered just *SLIGHTLY*.'

Haha, yeah, it's all a *bit* lower now. I should have left the other junk on my screen so you guys could see levels. My hunter is (as I said) only 44 atm, and the beetle was 39 when I tamed it. Even on the way up to the tunnel I don't think you'll run in to anything over lvl 41, so it's a safe enough trek if you're high enough to get the guy.
Just remember to have a
free pet slot open. I originally came up for the pretty mage hounds, and as I could find NO stable masters at all in WPL/EPL (they may exist...but I didn't find them) I had to abandon 2 pets in order to get my dog/the beetle. Luckily one of them wasn't one that was working out for me. (I prefer to look at it as "setting him free".) And the other I can get again easily enough.

Excellent! When Live first hit, those beetles hadn't been level-adjusted--glad they caught it!

Yeah, I'm perusing different ones to figure out which I *really* want to keep...but then I always feel guilty when I get rid of one to replace it with another/higher level model that I couldn't get previously.

I'm really eyeing up that gorgeous venom one. Pity it's in a dungeon.

And that I'll have to replace my poor 'rescue beetle' for it. But... but... *it's so gorgeous*.

Oh, yes. Those beetles. Funny story.
Here I am, on my little lock. She's 38, 39ish. So in we go to the tunnel, looking to nuke some spiders. It's all going well, Maxwell and I are ripping through bugs like nobody's business until we reach a small intersection. Three Nerubians are just chilling there, probably eating Delicious Cave Mold (DELSHUSH CAVE MOLD. NOM NOM NOM.) or drinking coffee or doing whatever Nerubians do. Maxwell goes in, and I follow shortly after. We're taking heavy fire, but beyond that, we'll be fine. I'm spamming Health funnel and Drain Life, while making sure DoTs are in order.
Then IT spawned.
I notice a new mob, a Carrion Beetle. Okay, that's fine, I'll just take it down with a few sha-what. the. hell.
It's skull to me. Maxwell is now taking dangerously low health, and I'm spamming health funnel, screaming, "MAXWELL! DON'T DIE ON ME!" and the bug turns to me. It starts wailing on me, and now I'm getting blown to bits. Pop one of my underleveled potions, use my healthstone, and Maxwell finally finishs the last bug and the pair of us beat down the skull bug.
In the end, both of us were nearly dead, but we made it out. Just another reason to show why, despite three mobs and a skull, warlocks are awesomeness.

.... and also why, as it was told to me so long ago: Never underestimate the ganking power of the EPL. Even now!

No stable master at Light's Hope Chapel? The chapel itself is considered an inn, so there may be a stable master just outside of the entrance.

A quick wowhead search shows that there are none in Eastern Plaguelands but two in Western - one neutral, one Horde.
http://www.wowhead.com/npcs=7?filter=cr ... 28;crv=0:0 I wonder why there's no Alliance stable master down in Andorhal...

Alliance side of Andorhal has like... nothing. Imagine there isn't a single inn for Alliance in whole of WPL - none in Hearthglen, and only Horde in Andorhal.

Oops, silly me. Should have thought of that!

This time,
I shall use the Wowhead to answer your query!
Well, the closest thing we have to an inn there seems to be
Mother Matterly at the Chillwind Camp. Not sure if there's a nearby tent or something that functions as an inn (gets your character rested, that is) - this innkeeper is brand new.

I checked Light's Hope Chapel, and the other place I had found. This was after running around WPL frantically trying to find a stable master....after coming all the way from Tanaris!!...so I finally just gave up. I don't have all of the W/EPL's uncovered yet, but in the towns I managed to uncover I found nada.
There probably is at least one, as Sarayana said...but in my frantic "omg I need to get my pets naoww!!" state, I didn't run across any lol.

Yeah, it's in a weird place, up north in Western Plaguelands. I tried finding it myself when I went to tame the bony bird (mostly cause I was helping a friend tame it and hadn't planned on picking it up until I was there...

) and ran circles in Andorhal cause that's the logical place for it to be, right? Oh well.
