I've had a pet feeding macro all the way from Vanilla to Caty. While I don't remember where I got the macro once-upon-a-time-long-ago , I'm now finding that it won't work well enough for me to continue to use it. This is because the macro commands are based on each pet species itself, and since we have so many more pet species than we use to have, I can't put more than 3-4 species on the single macro. (I use to have like two wolves and two cats and one spirit beast, but now I have 6 different species so..its useless..).

The limitation of the macro I have now is that even if all my pets eat meat, I have to list each species seperately, individually, and even with just the 5 "on call" if they are 5 different species I don't have enough characters.

Is there a new way, or another way, I can have a macro that will feed all my pets the right food out of my bags wtih the click of a single button?

Or is a macro like this sufficiently "busted" forever now - because its just too impractical to have 6 or 7 macros that list all 25 pet species (even if they all eat meat...)

(Yes I have the glyph where healing my pet increases its happiness, I just still LIKE throwing food to my pet and feeding them so I WANT to be able to use this without having to click "feed pet" and then rustle through my bags and click on the right food..)

I too like to be able to feed my pets - particularly post-tame, but also after a pet res, when they're summoned with too low HP (I hate that bug), or if they take a lot of damage.

I use the feed-o-matic addon. Does all the work for me. In the options you can tell it which specific foods to use, or you can just tell it not to feed them foods that can be used for cooking, for example. You then set your hotkey (I use alt-f) and go nuts watching your pets snap for those morsels. Oh! Best part is that it emotes the feeding. "Watch those fingers" or "one gulp and it's gone".

Same here. I'm big fan of Fizzwidget's add-on's, since back in Vanilla I think.
And still using feed-o-matic AND Creature Comforts. It "...combines all of your pet upkeep abilities into a single button". Really helpful add-on/macro.
This add-on creates macro for single button and by pressing Shift/Ctrl/Alt you will have all commands you need for your pet atm.

In that case, please re-roll. Not having to have 4 different food types for your 25 pets is an awesome option to have and ammo made us a red headed step child of a class that engineers could get rich off of.

awesome addon suggestions thanks guys! I knew about feedomatic now that I thikn about it, cuz its where my hunter friends get those feeding comments..just totally forgot about it since I just used my feed macro.

And yea, like I said I could /mend pet but that takes some of the fun out of it for me, I like the new feed animation and the animal jumping up to get it. Makes it still feel more like a "pet" and not just a DPS machine But if I'm fighting or about to fight or just rezzed the pet or whatever, I still use mend pet. Sometimes I'll use mend pet AND throw a treat their way just cuz. I rarely eat the food for myself and my automaton addon keeps my food topped at 20.

And I would just drag and drop but ugg, I hate to open my bags to grab the food and then click and drag..spoiled by the macro I guess =). But that's why its good to have options, so everyone can do the way they want!

Though I've never had more than 2 types of pet food really. Most of the pets now pretty much eat meat as one of their options. I know at one point I carried fruit as well for the one or two pets who both ate fruit instead of meat. But as I *use* to carry food/fruit for myself health/mana it was never an issue. I don't think I've ever had more than 2 types of pet food in my bags (I never had cats in vanilla wow so never had to worry about fish lol).

I'm still glad its in the mechanic somewhere though (even if I'm glad we don't have ammo), we're not warlocks! We care for our pets! Feed them and love them and bathe them and take them out for walkies..and..and.. =D

I am right there with you, I loooooove the feeding animation. I gladly carry three different stacks in my bags (lord knows I have enough room anyway) to be able to feed my lovelies their favourites. (Also, I'm super impatient and mend pet just doesn't always do it for me, ya know?)
