Why

Why do people wait the week before Christmas to get their shopping done? Just out of curiosity. It doesn't make sense to me. I try to get mine done as early as possible but not too early. I will admit, there are a few things I need to get but... I for sure will be getting them this week or early next week.

Probably for the same reason I'm still not starting to write the paper for my bachelor's degree - because they leave everything for as late as possible. "If I can do it later, why bother with hurrying up?" Though christmas shopping is one thing I prefer to do early - I really don't like the crowds.

I dunno, I order everything via the internet, so don't have to move my toe to do the shopping.
And I wait to the last moment, because I'm horrible at figuring out what to buy for whom. I end up buying books every time. They love me on Amazon. :)

Because everyone always puts everything off. And most of them don't thinking of the headache there going to have fighting over stuff they want at stores packed with other people who put things off till the last minute. Some people are probably busy with work and can't get everything done as quickly as others, so they have to do it only on the days they can. That's going to be me this year.

Yeah I avoid wal mart, haha. Especially since I have a discount card for target. The whole being busy cause of work thing makes sense. But i know not everyone has that excuse. I guess some people are just lazy, lol. My dad happens to be diong his shopping last minute but thats because he works 6 days a week usually.

It could also be an issue of sales, or whatnot.

I dunno about most stores, but at the one I work at, at least, we have a lot of holiday stuff relevant to the current holiday. Decorations, foods, dishware, etc etc. The list goes on. A lot of people come in to buy the stuff early, to get it out of the way. But a LOT of it gets marked down anywhere from 50%-90% off the week before the actual holiday's date. It goes down even further AFTER the holiday naturally (got to get rid of it) but it's still a huge monetary save to buy the stuff a week before.
