Right now, for when Tuesday comes and I can start rolling into Cata, I'm bringing:

Flameclaw, my trusty red lynx
Tankamaggus, my Corehound for when I need that buff in a group
My tanking beetle
and the fox, which is likely the trash pet in case I run across something cool.

Once I get the 5th slot, I'll be bringing a Silithid as well.

So the standard PVE set will be Cat, Corehound, Tanking pet, Sillithid, and a trash pet. (Once I don't think I'll be taming anything else, the next slot would be a cunning bird.)

Thoughts?..

What's your set for Tuesday?

(and since we can't level pets anymore, I've got Slick parked by the mining trainer, and likely won't touch him till Tuesday, unless I can get someone to go get a burning boar).

I've tried to give thought to my 'pet team', but I have a feeling I'll change it around a lot. Skorn, Reznor (purple warpie), and Aleister (purple croc) will probably be with me at almost all times....then I'll just rotate pets around as I feel like it. I'm not overly concerned with matching the ideal requirements of situations. I'll bring who I want to. ^^

I agree with Veph, I doubt I will have a set "team". I will try to keep one of my spirit beasts in an active slot - the heal is always nice as a bandaid and I do love them - and then I'll definitely have one of my tanks with me (beetle, hydralisk, boar, worm, and warp stalker - I love all five and I really hope I can manage to give them all equal play time). Aside from that... it'll be a revolving door.

Since I adventured from levels 60 to 80 with my currently retired purple Frostsaber, Valtiel, (my "always out" pet for two years) it somehow seems fitting for her to adventure with me again to level 85 - it'll be just like old times. She will come out of retirement when my experience bar does.

I'm also taking Midnight with me. The other two will be veterans, just like Valtiel - Asher the bear, whom I've had around the same amount of time, and Dahlia, my old PvP spider.

I think my ant Jack (short for Jack Jumper) that I turned into a tank (thank u Grace of the Mantis) and my ravenger or raptor (need to save room in case I see something I want)

Argolak - Rotting Agam'ar. He may be at level 77, but I'm banking on this whole pet exp mess being worked out by the time finals are over. I really want him to be my default pet again.
Quetzaram - generic armored chimaera. My AoE tank and comedic relief in the form of random froststorms
Aquind - Arcturis. Goes without saying, really.
Fonlithien - Ghamoo-ra. She's been level 80 for a while now, and will be my 'lol group quest' pet.

My fifth slot won't have a permanent pet at first, as I tame different shale spider skins and decide which one I prefer. Beyond that is a bit far into the future for me to plan.

im planning to lvl MM for rapid killing/rapid recuperation combo, instant 25 focus per kill. i'll be using my ferocity pets mainly, gonna rotate them as they lvl up.

Spinne'll have Chesterliver (black bear that's been my leveling buddy 1-80), Brophy (my Skoll), and Zombiewoof (my wolf) if I feel like being Surv for some unforeseen reason.

I don't plan of having any "gotta have it!" moments, but ya never know. =D

Cat only. I won't be doing dungeons before I hit level 85 and the extra slots while levelling will allow me to tame pets that I find interesting while levelling or questing after reaching max level.
