pretty much everything that is gonna happen for Cata has already happened during The Shattering. ZG was the only raid to be removed.

Nothing is happening to BWL, as Nightsights said, the only removed instance is ZG.

I got Chromaggus last night, so I can confirm that, unless they have some kinda of server-room spaz-attack, BWL ain't going anywhere.

However, for those unable/unwilling to monkey around with BWL just for the sake of that model, the lookalike mob Drakeadon Mongrel will appear in one of the early Cata dungeons, for you lazy hunters...

Dont tell me that! I paid 500g to get a run for my Chromaggus-and they are releasing more mobs just like him? I was thinking he was going to be a that mob or nothing type. Gah.

That actually makes me kinda sad. Taming Chromie was such a cool experience, and I felt like the work I did for it was worth it. To know that it's going to be easier to tame bums me out a bit.

That's a Dragonkin though, not a Beast, so it can't be tamed.

For me, it's the memories of the tame that make a pet special, not just the fact that it's prettier than others of it's type. Just because they have the same model, doesn't make your Chromaggus any less special. Nor does this mean that taming Chromaggus will be any easier, only that the same skin is available elsewhere for those not able/willing to get into BWL for the big boss himself.

And after all the crap I've gone thought trying to get Chromaggus for a number of hunters on Nessingwary, I'm really, REALLY glad the model is available to tame elsewhere. I'm always happy to help a hunter willing to go in there to nab him for themselves, but I dislike seeing good people have to miss out on their super special awesome pet for at least a week because someone else had dibs first.

I'm assuming you're talking about the soon-to-be-introduced mobs as opposed to Chromaggus himself, as he's been a beast now for a good couple of weeks. I'm not sure Beta testers had a chance to check if the other drakeadons were tamable or not, as most of us got caught up in ZOMG CHROMAGGUS. However, with Chromaggus changed from dragonkin to beast, I can't see a reason why they wouldn't also change his non-boss cousins as well.

The drakeadons in the new dungeon are all dragonkin, so not tameable. I think Chromaggus' tameability evaded beta-testers' notice only because nobody really tried doing BWL. Because WHY would you do that on beta? Certainly not to check if a boss was changed to beast. :P

Actually, we noticed Chrom was tamable not too long after the beta patch that made him such. I know, I was on the team that did it. We'd been checking the raid for a while. And yeah, we did do it to specifically check if a boss was changed to a beast, we're kinda pet obsessed that way. :P
(And we had suspicions thanks to a datamined rare corehound name sounding suspiciously familiar. >.>)

This. While the Draekadon turned out to be a false alarm, this sentiment is worth encouraging. Sometimes, on these difficult tames, we get so hung up on silly little things like a unique skin, a boss tag, or a special effect. I know I did with The Beast when I learned that he was being demoted.
I tamed The Beast back in 3.3.5 with the aid of a good in-game friend. It was quite the experience, and an incredible sense of accomplishment (and adrenaline rush when I saw my Tame Beast castbar pass 10 seconds for the first time - those ten seconds were nervewracking!) once I finally tamed him. I insisted that my friend come up with a name - The Beast was known as Hooch from that day forth.
Another hunter sent me a tell in Stormwind a few days later asking about my pet (never had that happen before :)). Me being the sucker I am, I wound up going through UBRS again as an adviser of sorts. He managed to snag a random priest on the trade channel to come with us and heal.Took forever, with the priest threatening to send us her bills for the counseling she'd require after being chased down hallways by The Beast (in order to cause him to evade, and thus regen all his health before dying), but he finally did it. I still keep in touch with them in-game; the priest especially.
