I saw some posts by others saying it was possible for a GM to restore the pet if it was tamed at some point.
Well I did have the slime tamed for about a week when it was available, I tried twice so far with tickets and each time they responded while I was offline saying it was not possible to restore.

Anyone think I should keep trying? and do you think they could restore it as the Hydra version? that's hoping for alot.

Pet Restorations are hit and miss. Sometimes a GM will do it, sometimes they won't. You could keep trying, or take a rest and try again later.

I can tell you there's no way they coudl give you a Hydra instead of a Slime. They are only restoring what physically belonged to you in the past. They cannot alter the pet in any way.

Someone tried to have their hydralisk restored recently, got a regular crocolisk, and was informed that nothing more could be done. So, no guarantees.

*nod* Essentially it's a favor. Some get lucky, but don't go in thinking they absolutely can/will/must restore a pet.

I was told by a GM that pets released prior to the big 4.0.1 patch are no longer restore-able

I definitely recall some people from this forum who had pets such as the Ghost Hydra restored after that patch (they had it restored because they finally had room with the expanded stables).

I just talked to a friendly GM whom I promised a Delicious Chocolate Cake if he/she could restore my 2 spirit beasts (Loque and Gondria)

So after some trial and error (swapping active pets coz the restored pet goes to slot 1 on the active slots) both my pets got restored.

You see, it all depends on how long you've had your pet. Blizzard does keep your logs but as you have mentioned you've had your pet just for a few weeks when it was availible, this was more than a year ago and I doubt that they have the logs for this period. I have personally ticketed a gm asking for my slime to be restored but I was told that there is no record of this long ago left in the logs. So I guess this is why they are able to restore the spirit beasts of some people and are not able to help you with your slime. When speaking of people that had their hydralisks restore - my guess will be that they have abandoned them much later. Hope I made sense:)

The spirit beasts I had since they came available, tamed Loque at jan 15th '09 and Gondria may 19th '09, so more than 1 year ago.
I abandoned them when I tamed Arcturis at dec 19th '09, just short of a year...

No no, Arcturus is the brightest star in Boötes constellation, with apparent magnitude of −0.04, wheras Polaris is the Northern Star, and brightest on in Ursa Minor, apparent magnitude 1.97.
I named mine Polaris because of the Ursa Minor thing.

My Arcturis was Mengsk. He was kinda' cool. :D

I am giving this a go with Loque'nahak now, who I had to let go because of space myself.

I tried again, the 4th time and no luck for my slime, I did only own it for about a week or two quite awhile ago. I just wanted it as a vanity, nothing special to me, I'm happy with my loque/huhuran/kingkrush among others
