I think I'm up for another very long camp...

I really want Madexx and he has to be blue, if that proves to be a too tall order I suppose the red works as well.

Something tells me I'm gonna be there for a very long time...

I've got the same problem, only I'm looking for black and will settle for red or brown only if I'm desperate. If I see blue or green, I'm messaging another hunter, or killing it if no one is nearby. ( Unfortunately I live on a rather populated server and there are people who would kill it to spite a hunter. Since it's a zone both quested in and a popular mining site, I'd rather reset the spawn than see some turd get the tear and taunt me and other hunters by linking it or throwing it in a trade window. )

I spent 6 hours looking for him with no luck. I'm hopnig his spawn isn't something rediculous like 24 hours, and that 6-12 is about right. Speaking of which, I should stop levellnig my worgen and go back to camping....

I can confirm the spawn time is NOT 6 hours like stated in an earlier post. I found the green couple of days ago and since I was only 83 and no hunter wanted to tame it I killed it (the stupid tear burns in my pocket) to be able to check spawn time. That was 11.07. I came back at 17 and camped for over an hour with no result, but sure, it was primetime and busy so chances are a skinner killed it or a hunter tamed it. I then returned every 6 hours for a day, camped couple of hours and found absolutely nothing.

From what I'm told, it's not usual for rares to have a specific spawn time. They have a random spawn time within a certain (wide) time range. The problem is people see something spawn two or three times around the same time range and develop a theory on a set spawn time that then spreads as around as "fact".

hmm i just cecked wowhead at the crystaline tear page whom it drops from 8 times it dropped from the green and 8 times from the black.
7times from the black and 3 times from the blue... i guess the blue is the rare one :/


never mind....the brown one hasn't been killed yet so the Brown is the most rare i guess ^^

Indeed! Grats on the tame. I'm starting to lean more towards the purple I think. Blue is still awesome but I be happy for both those colors...

Hello , I would love to tame Madexx too. I just wonder is he as small as the other sorpids around there, or is he larger ( before the tame, thats what I mean ) ?

He is much larger!

He's so much larger that it's jolting.

I have a desire to get the Black one if I get lucky enough to find him. If I stumbled upon Red or Blue I'd tame them though, they're both very awesome looking.

The brown one is the rarest? That was the color I got mine, guess I'm lucky or something. Unknowne-Elune

Do you have any locations of where you tamed him?

I got him! The purple! During primetime!

I was leveling archaeology and every time I got the southern dig sites I flew into Uldum, picked couple of cinderblooms and flew over his zone. I really wasn't expecting to find him, I mean jeez the place is buzzing like a bee hive right now but I had to check you know...and suddenly my screen flashes red. I panicked as I saw a guy attacking him then realize it's only one of those wastewander NPC walking into him. I flew down and forget to dismiss my pet and panicked even more as it attacks him. Thankfully Madexx has a lot of HP and it barely scratch him. The seconds to dismiss and tame was the longest ever but I made it. Literally one second after the tame completes a DK flies over me.

I named him Terkari! (Cookies to the one knowing the reference (without googling it ^^))

I found him straight north from Ramkahen, I'll include a screenshot of the location. I did not see if he was pathing or not but many others have reported (and Wowhead shows it too) a spawn located northwest of the sub-zone.
