Hey all,

Question; does the amount of quests you've done int the Twillight Highlands (94/94 Achieve) & the phase you are in have any effect on you ability to tame/find Sambas?
3rd straight day of camping... Patroling all know sighting locations, no nide nore hair of him yet, not even a corpse or carcass?!?
*(kinda worried i missed my chance coz' of the phase i'm in?)

Any thought's?

As far as I know, none of the pets should be affected by phasing, though sometimes phasing can bug them and cause two to spawn at the same time in different phases? Sorry I can't be much help

I know that a lot of people who quested their way through Twilight Highlands have found Sambas, and when I found him, I hadn't even done the intro quest. So I think phase-wise, you're safe.

I keep hearing people voicing concern over the new rares and how they interact with phasing technology, but as far as I know there are none affected by it.

I sincerely doubt Blizzard would introduce such high profile, unique pets in areas that would unknowingly become phased and therefore unreachable if you accidentally progressed through them.

I have seen or tamed many of them after fully completing a zone's quest chains. I don't think there's any reason to fear for them in that regard.

Oh good...that just means I've been unlucky. I was afraid I hadn't quested into Sambas' proper phase yet, or worse yet, that I'd missed him somehow. I guess the paranoia comes from the fact I finished the siege of Neferset City before snagging one of the gem tigers to play with since I was a bubble and a half from 85 when doing that quest - and ended up having to duck into the Lost City of the Tol'vir to snag one. I'll keep looking for that lovely lion and keep my fingers crossed...

Good news that there's still a chance i can run into Sambas & tame him in my current phase...
Bad news that i'd better put the kettle on, pack a lunch & hit the camping trail again^^

phasing have been glitching out for me in twilight highlands, ive noticed stuff like herbs getting phased. but i dont think sambas has a problem.

i actually found him while mining on my lvl 81 paladin, came back on my 85 hunter who is well into the quest chain there and tamed him successfully.

If it helps any, I only did like ten quests there before I started camping and eventually got him. He spawned almost exactly (but not quite, off by maybe 20 min) 12 hours after a server restart on my server, and then I tamed him about 26 hours after that.

VICTORY!!!

Finally found+tamed him...
Dentarg realm, cords; 45/30, 01:40'ish last night.

*several points you should consider, so you don't end up a bloody mangled mess like i did after the tame...
#1) don't panic like a crazy person when your "/target Sambas" macro finally pay's-off!!!
#2) don't panic like a crazy person after #1 & dismount in mid-air allmost falling to your death!!!
#3) and in the event that you do disregard #1 & #2, don't start taming him right away, if you're not sure you'll have enough health for it!!! (coz i mis-fired my trap ofc)...

**in other words, what the presence of several other hunters camping the area doesn't do to someone's normally calm way of playing...
