Which is your favorite lore character?

For me, it's a tough choice, but C'Thun (Yogg'Saron too I guess...) is definitely one of the top ones. I like the way he sounds totally calm and human, even tough he's a hideous monster trying to chop the whole raid into millions of tiny pieces. His random whispers are fun to hear, like he's relying more on psychic warfare then on actual killing. The whole "ancient evil hideous slime thingie" really sounds like what an evil, ancient god would look like. It's a fun fight too, and hey, it got Kungen banned, so there's at least some good in the guy.

Also, his name sounds a bit like Ctulhu. Which is also cool...

Gah, what a hard choice to make.

I really can't do it, there's just so much incredible storyline in the Warcraft history, and so many great characters.

I'll say that I've loved the history of Arthas since WC3, so he's definitely one of my favourites. Still, there's so many more and it hurts my brain trying to think of them all. xD

Edit: Ooh! And Sylvanas is a huge favourite of mine too.

I guess it's a tie between Elune and Malorne.

Goddess of the Moon and a giant white stag.

Honestly, I'd choose the stag over the moon but that's just the outdoors person in me.

He had everything, lost everything, came riding back with a vengence, and evidently still has alot to do even after certain things in Northrend have ended.

Alexstrasza the Life-Binder, Aspect of the red dragonflight.

I love how she adores life in all it's forms. Orc, Human, Dranei, Forsaken. To her we are all her childeren.

I'm not trying to sound sappy, but how can you not love an immortal flying reptile with god-like magic powers that treats everyone like she's our mother?

There are so many wonderful lore characters or other not even important to the lore around, but one of my favorite useless NPC's would be...

Arator the Redeemer and he's not even in the lore...but I like him.

Now I'll just say that otherwise this WILL be a long post...really a long post of a post.

Bolvar Fordragon

He's the guy all Alliance called their leader at one point. When Varian returned, Bolvar went off to aid the soldiers. His courage and dedication to his people was alone enough to be honorably mentioned. Then, he ends up getting acid nuked, incinerated, and almost turned into a Death Knight, and he STILL survived it all. Then, he takes the Lich King's helmet like it was nothing, then freezes himself to keep the Scourge under control.

That is simply hardcore.

King Varian will always be my favorite, *dodges hate mail* I couldn't even bring myself to kill him on my horde chars for the bear mount.

I never played any of the Warcraft RTS so I'm not really familiar with what happened before WoW. I particularly like:

Thrall - an orc who shows wisdom and good leadership skills

Jaina Proudmoore - because I like peacemaker types. Favorite quote: All I ever wanted to do was to study.

Silvanas - a tragic figure.

Other than that, I find Ogri'la and Gordok ogres very interesting. Imagine ogres attaining a peaceful society based on Shangrila. Or wonder how an ogre clan can attain peaceful relations with both Alliance and Horde simply through selling beer.
