Aiming Spirit Beast Heals

Simple question: I find my spirit beast (Bear) heal goes off seemingly randomly and if I want to aim it, I usually need to hotkey, click, or macro to get it to target me, the bear himself, or a tank.

This seems cumbersome and odd for timing with rotation cooldowns, so I thought I would ask here: Anyone got any spirit beast heal tips and tricks?

#showtooltip
/target Mimic
/cast Spirit Mend(Exotic Ability)
/targetlasttarget

I use this for targetting myself when I'm farming

I had been wondering this for a while myself until talking with another hunter friend about a click add-on I could use with the new default raid frames. I'd tried healbot with a few of my low lvl healing alts but I wanted to streamline. He suggested I might try Clique, and in his explanation of it to me he realized he could bind his pets spirit mend just like any healing spell. So I did the same thing and now I just click on the raid frame of whomever I want it to heal.

Not only that, apparently you can also bind MD with it. Not a bad idea at all to use it with SH though, I hadn't thought of that. :)

No need to do the /target just to the following:

/cast [@player] Spirit Mend

That will always cast spirit mend on yourself.

Actually I also realized you could bind MD and it's turned out useful! I still have my MD macro but if I need to use it on the off-tank it's handy.
