So I've been camping Terrorpene going on 12.5 hrs now (solid camp time). I've read these forums, mmo-champ, guild forums, chatted friends ears off, etc. in between rounds (1 round every 30 seconds or so) but it's getting incredibly difficult not to give up at this point - especially since so many people have noted a 6 hour spawn time.

So my question is, what do you do when you are camping a rare that just won't spawn?

Haha, interesting that you posted this, as I am currently on an incredibly long camp for Sambas.
I've been pretty lucky with rares so far, but not with this guy. I have resorted to stealing my boyfriend's Netflix information so I can have a Bones marathon as I fly aimlessly in circles. It's worked pretty well, I lose track of time and the number of episodes I've watched ><

I read! I have a lot of books and graphic novels piled up next to my computer that need reading. I'm currently reading the Warriors series, which was kind of ironic because I was looking for Sambas during my last pet camp out.

I listen to an audio book. It helps to pass the time quicker then you may think. Find a book you are interested in, and either buy the audio book off ebay, or .. well download it off a torrent site ^^;

I would read but I tend to circle the camp sites from time to time in quick passes so need my eyes and hands at the ready.

13.5 hours. He spawns. I tried the deterrence thing that was suggeseted and it interrupted the tame. He killed me right before tame finished after second time hitting tame. 85 lock swooped in and killed it before I got back the 10 feet from the graveyard. /cry

Same here, I always have at least one book next to my laptop. The book is reserved for long camps and long flightpath trips.

Edit: That sucks man. But at least you have a spawn timer, right?

Deterrence has to be popped before hitting Tame Beast, or it cancels the channel. Sorry to hear about that.

I'm on 52 hours for Sambas with roughly 3 hours of sleep. Probably going to call it good enough for now soon here. I chat with guildies, browse forums, do art. Fly around in endless amounts of infinite loops hoping.

I thought someone said you had to hit it after otherwise you couldn't target him.

Setting my alarm for 6 hours from time he was killed and hoping for the best. Maybe I'll go check on Karoma. Wish I'd have caught the lock's name. I was too much in shock to even think about it.

It is frustrating as I knew the last time he was tamed (by a buddy of mine but I missed the tame myself by less than an hour) however knowing the time didn't really help and the servers were restarted. Good luck to you as well, I wish I could at least see a corpse to know if he's been up at all.

Sitting on Windrunner currently camping Terropene as well. I'm farming. I'll do a lap, wait a minute, make another lap, and so on.. at least I'm making money while camping.

Unfortunately, I am an alchemist/engineer. No farming for me! I am up and awaiting his return. Here turtle turtle turtle.... here boy! Any luck on yours (I hope?)?

I loop, play an alt, sit there for a while, play an alt, and when I get stubborn I just straight-up camp with a book at the ready.
