Sambas gone in minutes! Wow! (realm thrall-us)

I am not one to post stories but this one ticked me off so bad, I think I am sharing it partly to vent haha. I sat back in my chair after this happened just thinking to myself "what are the odds?"
So like many I have been camping Sambas for a while now. Countless hours, late nights etc. I am a veteran camper/flyer overer, so I know what I am in for. The fact that I have yet to see Sambas dead or alive is a little disheartening but I trek on. Well... I hadnt seen him dead or alive...until today apparently.
I am camping him through Remote Desktop. for those familiar with it, you understand that even with small windows and black and white, you get like... 1 frame a second, maybe 2, through the remoting computer. So I am here and just keeping an eye on my home pc through remote. I cant fly around efficiently through remote (I can but its awkward), so I decided to camp the southern most spawn point. I made a macro to target and start taming and i have a trap nearby but I doubt I will need. Shouldnt be a prob.
In the course of the day, I had to use the restroom, and I didnt dream in a million years he would spawn in those few minutes I walked away.
Well, he did. I come back to my desk and NPCscan had went off. I dismount, go running around spamming my targeting macro, nothing. Nothing on tracking. He is gone. Seriously? YAH.
Apparently he spawned and within minutes was either killed and skinned, or tamed (grats to the hunter if he was). I was AFK so if another hunter tamed it or he was killed in my absence, I cannot fault them. It is possible a hunter had sambas out near me but the location I was at is mainly flyover country. I find this unlikely unless a hunter was just wanting to be a jerk and trigger my npcscan with a false positive. Maybe one just happened by and was herbing or something.
I just cant imagine what the odds are that he would spawn while I was online, at that location, the moment I walk away and be gone by the time I get back. Just seems surreal.
Anyways, assuming the former is true, I now have a spawn time to go off of. I have been just blindly camping and flying over up to this point. I have heard spawn timers of 6 hours, 8-12 hours, and 24 hours so I guess I will be checking them all.
