I wasn't born in the 80's, but it seems to have been an okay age (era?). I remember that clip from Family Guy. :D

I really like the way they did the art in the music video, done via rotoscoping.
Also I recommend the movie Heathers to anyone who likes 80's stuff >_> most epic dark comedy ever.
Still have a huge crush on Winona Ryder <3

I caught the tail end of the 80s (born in 1987). It was...interesting I suppose. Can't say I'm too fond of any of the trends from that era though. xD

generally speaking, one isn't "fond" of trends from an era we weren't a part of.
the whole 50's thing eludes me completely.
but I get the 60's.
I was already an adult in the 80's, so obviously, I saw it from a different viewpoint than a lot of people here.
Honestly, the 80's was a difficult time. Socially it was the beginnings of the strong neo-conservative movement we saw emerging in the first decade of the 21st century. It was easy enough to dismiss those far-right implications, because they seemed to "minority-ish" at the time, it was hard to imagine how powerful the movement would become.
The 80's was also the great explosion of the AIDS era. It saw so many deaths.

Moore you did a very, VERY bad thing opening up this can of worms.
I am HUUUUGE eighties fan, and I happened to catch A-Ha's last concert in Chicago. I'm the biggest A-Ha fan in the world.

I know the synth was cool and new in the 80s, but they kinda over did it in the music of the era. That and day glow colors.

Sure. And vocoders/autotuners-as-an-effect are only used sparingly in music today ....
Personally, I miss having my socks and hair ties be major contributions to my "outfit." I do NOT miss the amount of hairspray my household went though on a daily basis. (Born in 1982).
