Sorry to interrupt the mass taming of rares that most of ya are doing, but just thought I'd ask a question...

Is GC the easiest of all the rares? No pressure from sport kills, no gathering in the area, and not even any questing in the area, we are the only ones going there, right? Might explain why he's the only rare I've found.

Anyway, Merry Christmas or the holiday of your choosing, and grats on all the 3, 4, 5, and 6 rare tames a day. I'm gonna bug out of the forums for a while. I can't bear another 3 rares in one hour thread.

I think herbalists may be able to find nodes in the Abandoned Reef, but other than that the place really lives up to its name. It also helps that his Nerfbat shows no mercy to those who wish to kill him

Yeah I've been there twice and a friend has been there once and all three times we just found him pacing around. He's very strong so randomers aren't likely to be able to take him down that easily, and the spawn is very out of the way.

I wish that were the case for me. I have only seen him once and he was getting tamed by a night elf...I've been out there a lot. I think I'll log out there from now on and hope for the best.

I've been wondering the same. o.o I think GC might be the easiest of them all to get, because the place lives up to its name. It's quite, how'd you say it.. Well, very dead and unpleasant place, so most herbalists and miners usually don't stay there awfully long (the nodes are quite scattered as well). His stealthy style might scare some hunters off as well, because it's relatively hard to keep track on him, unless you know how he moves around.

I had a helluva time getting him. There wasn't many other non-hunters in the area, but there was one that I saw frequently camping with me, and then the various that would come in and leave after half an hour. I saw him once in a span of five days, and that once was the time I tamed him, otherwise he was much of a.. ghost.

Also, I'd like to note that although the Reef is in fact completely abandoned but there is a level 85 patrol that goes through the area named Kolorath. He scared the living hell out of me everytime he passed. He'd come up as a red dot on my radar with track beasts on, he's huge, ugly, and one-shots anyone in his way. D:

I had a much easier time taming Karoma then Ghostcrawler. Loque & Skoll were also much easier then him too.

literally just picked up gc lol. hits like a darn mack truck. easy enough to spot though phasing is annoying as he will disappear and come back like 5yrds away lol

I have to admit: I love taking my dual-gatherer down to GC's reef. I've never seen the little crab, but there's tons of Stormvine, a little bit of Azshara's Veil, and several Obsidian nodes. And lots of space for relaxed, sweeping searches on top of it. But, as said above, GC can be hard to find, and a lot of people respect and fear the Nerfbat, so he's left mostly alone.

.... or maybe I'm the only gatherer who loves this area? I dunno.

I found him easily. :-/ Did a quick circe last night and didn't see him, so I just logged off and checked again this morning. There he was.
I must admit, I didn't really want him that much. I just wanted a break from camping Madexx. He's growing on me, though.

The area is not phased, he simply stealths away. He stays in stealth from 20-30 seconds and if you don't keep an eye on the direction he was heading towards before stealthing, you might lose him. At first I thought he simply walks forward in stealth, but after observing him 5 times, it looks like he can make turns as well. Crafty little fella. x3

I agree fully. That elite scares the hell out me. He takes a slow pat around wherever it is he goes so you kinda forget about him if you sit there long enough. He always gets me when I'm sweeping all the way to the north of the reef when he comes right up over that ledge.

I love my Nurf, but....

While I was mining on my mage on Wyrmrest Accord, I went out there, knowing Obsidium pops from time to time. He was there, and I followed him until two hunters came by. Awesome, I thought, they got their GC! Except....

....they looked at him a few moments, then took off as he phased. I found him again moments later, just ahead, and called out to them.

Not interested. :C

There needs to be more GC love, imo.

I like my Ghostcrawler. Even my friend who was against me getting him because of who he's named after has decided he's pretty fantastic despite the original name. Took me a day of camping to get mine. I saw three other hunters during that time. Two that came, sat for a while and then left and one who kept coming and going.

Saw quite a few miners and herbers.

I honestly love ghostcrawler. From the time I started hunting for rares I decided I wanted him though there always seems to be one hunter out there camping him always. I'm sure one of the times I head out there he'll be there though, waiting for me.

I'd snag him if I see him but ... I haven't. o.O And I don't feel like camping much.

I love rares and I think the new spike crabs are cute, but I don't think I can really muster the want needed to risk deaths to Kolorath, which honestly scares the shit out of me and the boredom of sitting out in that bleak expanse.

I sat out there for several hours, and Kolorath passed me without harm many times. I didn't stray very far from the floor of the Reef, though (habit, I tend to fly lowish too when I know I can).

I make occasional visits to the reef and not once have I seen GC just lurking about.

But i do consider him the easiest Cataclysm rare to obtain.

it too, me a few days of a bit of checking..maybe during all the time 2 hours...And i got alot of stormvine ^^ but maybe i just got lucky ^^
