Hello folks,


I am loosing my mind here. I have been camping Madexx for days now and still no siggn of him.


I am beginning to think he is phased during a quest line or something of that sort.

A friend of mine got the brown one 5 days ago and I have been camping all nights and most of the day on this elusive little devil.

I am hoping to get some mojo on this magic forum by posting a thread here.

In my hunting insanity, I am actually concidering that immediately after posting this, he will pop on my NPC scan and I will have an epiphany, convert to religion and rebith into a geeky freak.

But for now I AM MADEXX as hell....

I got him on chance after camping a few hours and retiring for the night. Woke up early to find him.
Frankly, that's the only way I've ever found rares. O.o

Me and my friend have been camping him for a while also and we got nothing

I'm in the same boat as you Aeze. I've seen no sign of him at all, tamed, dead, sighted, nothing. Im camping him in between camping the TLPD so I'm definitely going insane. When I put my macro in general saying he drops nothing important, isn't for an achievement, and i will pay if someone sees him and whispers me, all I get are assholes trolling.

I hope I get mine soon, and I hope you get yours as well. I know what you are goin through and I would never wish it for any hunter! Good luck everyone.

just server Xfer over to garithos... no joke see him like once a day lol picked him up 2x so far, red and black. dont have room for other colors.

Good luck! I have yet to see him on my server, corpse or living. I should mention I am not hard camping for this guy tho. >.<

Same here, Madexx is the last one i need. Haven't even seen him yet on another hunter.

I finally got him early Monday morning when I woke up to go to work and in the green skin I was hoping for. I camped a day and a half with barely a break to sleep and a lot of mining on the hill, sometime which he must have spawned in. Came back from work, logged on in Scholo and found Aotona sitting there for me to complete my stable.

I think there is a phasing issue with him, I spotted him from the air Saturday morning, npcscan went off and the whole works. I immediately turned around to land and ~poof he was gone. No corpse, no hunter with a new pet, not a trace he was there.

It wasn't a hunters pet either, it was full size. And I doubt he just stayed in the zone unnoticed all that time next to the quest hub. Maybe a phased hunter tamed him but it seemed strange.

There are other phasing issues in the area with mining nodes so I wouldn't be shocked.

Madexx is the last one for me as well. I don't know anyone on Kilrogg who'd have him, and I tried to help another hunter camp him today. I'm not sure if she got him, because I had to keep logging on and off and at one point she had gone afk and little bit later logged out. I'm beginning to believe he's a myth on our server. Think I'll give up for tonight. Better luck some other night.

And the mining and herbing issues are terribad. There's several nodes all over Uldum that you simply cannot get to no matter how you're phased.

Nowhere to be found on Draenor either. If I could just spot a dead Madexx I'd be happy. But yeah, I'm not too bothered, I've got all the other pets I wanted.

This is crazy, he must be even harder to get than the Twilight Highlands ones. At least with Sambas and Karoma, I see other hunters with them once in a while. Madexx...I don't think I've seen another hunter with him...ever.

My experience took two weeks to get him. Initially I was camping very late night/early morning hours thinking he'd be up. Spent at least a week or so doing it that way. Then I found out from someone here that he had spawned a couple times between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. (prime time, of course), and had been killed. After that, it was just a matter of making sure I was in the area the next day between those times and sure enough, I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. He practically spawned right on top of me as I was going past one of his spawn points.

Without knowing the last time he was tamed or killed, it's a heck of a challenge. Seems like more often than not he spawns around the 23 or 24 hour mark so unless you are able to stay up that long, there's a good chance you'll miss him entirely. Happened to me, I think I was signing on after he was spawning.

I totally feel for all of you. I got the bronze skin which was my second choice. I really wanted green (most of my pets are green or have a noticeable amount of green on them), and thought about going back to look for a mate for my new Vulkoor. But I figure, I got the one I was meant to have. He just about plopped into my lap with no one else around (except a couple other friends who were looking and did not want the bronze color), so I'm happy with him. Besides, he does have green on him, on the tip of his tail and in/on his mouth. And he's not so much brown as a very pretty golden/bronze color. I guess I'll just accept that it was fate that brought us together and I'm happy with that.

Sorry, I'm tired and I'm rambling. What I'm trying to say is that for whatever reason, Madexx seems to be one of the harder rares to get. I went so long without seeing a corpse, or even knowing when he had last spawned. It was a nightmare. But in the end, he is soooo worth it. :3

I'm not really looking for him right now though if I did see him I'd grab him. I've only seen one other person besides my gf who has had it. She got lucky and happened to find it while mining

I suspect he's rare for a few reasons:

1) Busy zone. And I do mean busy.
2) Not as flashy as say, Terrorpene or Sambas. I rarely get comments on Madexx while my friend gets pelted with tells about her turtle.
3) Scorpids. Just not as popular.

Oh, and sometimes getting the right color is tough. I've heard about 5-6 tames and NO blue. I adore my greenie and black one, but ... a part of me still pines for blue. Still, I'm stuffing a sock in the devil on my shoulder's mouth and letting others have their turns. BAD shoulder devil BAD.

Edit: And really, I've been grateful for the outpouring of support. General chat cheered me on when I finally grabbed 'em. People even came to see. So I think I will keep what I have and be grateful. It's a good lesson for me.

Having seen Madexx four times and all four green (while wanting blue), I really start believing in fate

And I haven't seen anyone with him on my server either, save for a friend of mine - the happy master of the second green Madexx I found But I rarely do any PvP, and scorpids are PvP pets. Maybe in battlegrounds or arenas there are more of them than out in towns.

Other hunter here ... no didnt catch him last night, but have just tamed him at 10:45 am this morning. must give you a big thank you for restoring my faith in the hunter class, you were friendly and helpful and made the hours camping more bareable. hopefully soon you will get yours, and will /w if i see him

It's my experience too that he is the most rare to see with a hunter.

On my server I've never seen another hunter with him, either horde or ally. I don't know if that is because the zone is so busy that he always get killed before someone have the chance to tame him or the fact that scorpids special ability isn't as attractive as many other tenacity-pets or simply that Karoma, Sambas, Terrorpene and Ghostcrawler looks a lot flashier. Madexx beauty sure is subtle and he is only for the ones that truly loves him I'm starting to think (woot finally a rare pet that not everyone uses just because it's rare, making it more common than a common )

I've seen him on at least one Alliance hunter, think it was the black version. So you're not the only one Jin

I know me and my cousin have been hunting sim for almost 2 weeks now and still nothing. We haven't seen any hunters with him on Kirin-Tor either.

You could be correct, I have had lots of phasing issues with mining and herbing too.

Wooohohooo! \o/ And the myth is busted! Congrats on your new friend! <3 Very happy you got it after all that hard work.

I have not seen any hunters on my realm with a Madexx. In fact after weeks of seaching/camping my tame was my first ever sighting.

I got a red one, not sure if thats a real common color or not.. Buts is pretty LOL
