So... Worgen...

Now I'll admit that I haven't gotten my Worgen past lvl 5 yet, still need to do that, but the more I see them in the AH, the more I'm less inclined to play one.. the leap is nice, but the "mount" animation doesn't do it for me.
So my other choice is to keep going with my Goblin hunter (also lvl 5 atm) but as you all know I have issues with being horde.. so.. a soloing goblin hunter, or keep trying the Worgen? I imagine I'll finish the starting area anyway for the Worgen, but don't think I'll get much past that..
(and seeing a worgen warrior named teamjacobs didn't help...)

Well if you don't like playing as one then I'd say don't. I love the goblin starter zone tho so I'd say finish that allso.

Old worgen > Crappy new worgen. Don't get me started on the ugly-as-hell females. I can tolerate the males, but the females... Just... Ugh. Hideous.
I say goblin, at least until you get out of the starting zone. It really is awesome.

I really enjoy my goblin. My new goblin shammy has become one of my favorite alts to work on. However, I do also like worgen, but that probably comes more from having loved werewolves since I was a little kid than an overall love for the model/looks of the WoW ones.
The worgen starting zone is interesting and more lore-ish while the goblin one is more gimmicky and amusing. I think the other reason you see so many is because they're a brand new race so lots of people are trying them out (not to mention, both worgen and goblins got some pretty kick ass racials, I discovered I can be in ghost wolf form and propel myself forward with my goblin belt XD).

Personally, I'd play both through the starting zones, then decide. I absolutely LOVE the worgen starting zone, but I'm kinda meh about them as a race in general, but with the goblins, i think the starter quests are kinda neat, but nothing compared to the worgen quests imho. But I love my goblin, he's awesome, so I'm playing one of each, maybe two of each. xD

Well, I have ONE set of heirloom gear.. so...

you really don't need the heirloom gear. I've never used it honestly. Particularly with all of the quest gear and new quests in abundance all over the place, I see heirloom gear as more of a krutch than anything, and an unnecessary one at that. However, some people enjoy the gear, so if you must use it, I wouldn't suggest giving it to a toon until after the starter zones and you pick which you like best, as the starter zones are really simple and clear cut, and shouldn't require much more than the quest rewards. xD

I use heirloom gear on my lock cause the Dreadmist set looks amazing. Plus, I love leveling 30% faster thanks to heirloom and my guild.
And personally? I don't like either. Worgens are just...ugly to me. Can't stand them. Females are horrible to me, but I can tolerate the males. As for goblins. Eh. I got them to 14ish in Beta and never touched her again.

I enjoyed the starter quests for both Goblins and Worgen.
But of the two, I enjoyed the Worgen quests more.
As fun as the Goblin quests were, they were really fun only the first time though.
After that I kinda felt, "Oh right, time to weed wack all the jungle plants.. again."
But then again thats me.
As for Heirloom gear, it adds quite a bit of XP, especially if you have the Dread Pirate Ring.
I was leveling my Worgen Hunter and there was a Worgen Priest basically leveling at the same time.
(Doing the same quests, ect)
By the time he was level 14, I was level 16.
Magnify this by 79 levels and it adds up quick.
Also add in the ability to have "blue" weapons up until you hit 80, and Heirlooms are just awesome.
Of course, looking at the same shoulder pads and weapons for 80 levels might get a bit.... boring.

Saturo, this wasnt really based on looks alone. This was based on the race as a whole. The lore, the animations, everything. You're allowed to not like them but it's kinda biased to say "this race sucks cause the females arent to my liking". I, infact, love my female worgens.
The worgen lore, revamped, actually makes sense. The old lore was crappy, unfinished, and unrealistic for WoW itself. If it were something like Starcraft, then the old lore would've been right at home. But it's not so it was out of place.

The only 'other world' is Outland. Northrend is on the same 'planet' as Azeroth. So unless worgen live there (which they dont), it doesnt make sense. It's too sci-fi. that was one of the biggest gripes and thats one of the reasons why it got fixed.

Um no the elemental plan is technicly another world. the draenei are from another world all the demons in the burning leagion are from other worlds.... So really its not "too sci-fi".
Its been said many times in the wow lore that there are other wrolds.
And no draenei are not from outland so don't say they are.

Elemental Plane.....keyword is Elemental. Worgen are not elementals. They aren't voids either from the Twisting Nether. They definitely arent Ethereals whom once lived in the Twisting Nether. They're beasts. They're werewolves. Werewolf lore in general is a curse put upon someone when they are bitten by another werewolf. Blizzard went with the traditional lore, which they should've done from the get-go.
Draenei are from Draenor, which essentially is Outland in a sense.
I'm sorry you don't like the lore that made more sense. I'm sorry the traditional werewolf lore isnt your fancy. But it is what it is.

I think the lack of tails makes them look a bit awkward, but I like playing mine. Though I find myself moving the camera around to the front the faces are amazing, but for as much as Blizz kicks butt I think they missed an obvious one here. The player sees the model from the back mostly... Worgens form behind aren't as interesting as most other player race models. Not a lot going on visually.

Yeah. I second this. I wish they had tails. D:
