Hi all,

So, what do you on the forums think about Frostbitten ? I think it's a pretty fun achievement now that Cata is out and Northrend is pretty empty, and I can indulge my rare-hunting bug now I have all the rare pets. However, I hate the fact that the Basin rares were included. I was doing some passes over Borean earlier today for some of the rares I still needed, flew over the Basin to Icecrown, and who was up but Loque'nahak. I felt really bad killing him for the achieve, knowing I could have just messed up someone's massive camp (being a hunter who camped a solid day for him and many many hours over Wrath), luckily there was no hunters in the zone at the time. I also had a friend who wanted him but wasn't actively camping, kinda felt like I would have been better off giving it to him. Would you have done the same ?

I like the rare-hunting achievements myself, I was rather surprised that we didn't get a Cataclysm-flavoured one with the expansion.

It would be nice if they changed it so that tameable rares weren't included perhaps, but overall I really have no problems with it and think it's a fun side project to complete.

Well, i want the achievement. All I have left is KK and Loque. And considering I'm in the Petopians guild....this is a problem. Especially since I also want to retame Loque! Yeah, I wish the basin rares were not in there!

I like the achievement - always been a rare-hunter at heart, cause I like the challenge - I hate that some tameables were included though - Hunters struggle enough with getting some of these guys from other Hunters/people being jerks; let alone adding them to an achievement. As ideas, I like both of them, but as a Hunter, it conflicts with me, even though the people going for the 'cheev have just as much a right over the pet as I do.

I always wanted that acheviment I shouldwork on it ^^

I like it... If the tamable rares aren't included! I'd rather have the mob tamed and given a new home than gaining a few achievement points that don't count towards anything.

I'll admit to setting off non-hunter's NPCscan in Sholazar with my Loque to aid a desperate friend who'd been camping him all night. (Said non-hunter continuously linked me Krush's loot once I mentioned I was camping him, too. Justice!)

Owch. I'm kinda torn, I wish the tamables weren't included. Then I think I'd like it.

I like the achievement idea, but I think it would be a bad idea for Cata zones. As much as I like killing rares, I don't think people would check their rare list before killing a rare - it would only encourage people to kill our lovely pets.
I do really enjoy finding a nice rare to kill though. I might do the Northrend and Outlands ones.

I'll be completely honest: I had the achievement long, *long* before I had Krush as a pet. I wasn't a Beast Master when I first got involved, and the chance to hunt the list was fun. Plus, it gave a list of what rares actually existed, which was very, very nice!

Am I a bastard for having killed the first (and to date only) Loque I ever saw in the wild? Probably. But for me, killing one and never killing it again was no different than taming it once and never taming it again. Sure I deprived some hunter of their pet, but I would've done that had I tamed it.

It's the griefers who tick me off, whether they're killers or tamers. Smoeone kills them over and over again for the loot? Or goes out and tames a bunch of them? *That's* just excessive.

If there are no hunters in zone, and it's not being camped for a tame, I'm fine with it. (Killed a few of them myself).

Would be nice if they added the achieve for Cata in 6 months or so, but not yet, but GC needs to be on that list..

I wouldn't mind it if it weren't for Loque, KK, and Aotona being on the list.

Because of that, I despise it.

No he does not. My friend is trying for that sneaky crab. I say keep the tamables off - there are after all, far more nontamable rares than tamables.

Slickrock means that GC is pretty much unkillable, so the achiev can't be finished. :)

Personally I thinks its a waste of time and since there are some of the best looking tamable pets in the game on it I absolutely detest it. Achievements that give a reward like a mount or something, those I can live with but if it involves killing rare tamables then no, get rid of it. Cata doesn't need a version of this, its difficult enough trying to track down the rare mobs in Cata without Jonny Paladonk and all his buddies camping them too for a measly 10 achievement points.

I mean I used to go looking for rare mobs that might drop a particular item anyway, I didn't go out of my way for it but if I was in a certain zone an knew there was a rare mob, not a tamable mob I might add, I'd go see if it was there. Now however we have mounts that are only obtainable from super rare mobs that are hunted to the ends of Azeroth and camped by more than enough players. I used to prefer it when you discovered a rare mob when you were out and about as it would be a nice surprise and some unexpected loot I don't think we need kill lists for this kind of stuff.

I wanna seem some gankers go out to GC and get taught a lesson.

I also want to see how big a raid it will take to bring GC down.

We dont need a stupid achievement like that. Not everyone is leveling their hunters right now and can get those pets.

Last think we need is people given MORE reason to ninja rare tameables.

Never been a fan of "bragging rights" achievements, especially if it involves things that are already rare and hard to get.
