Hey, does anyone know if there is a version of WMV that contains all the cataclysm data, the last version I downloaded doesn't seem to have any of my current gear on it nor does it have models for Madexx. Any help would be great, thanks

Oh and the version I downloaded is v0.7.0.1 r500 (got it from here

That's where I got mine from. Download the binary version. Mine has everything in it, including all the Cata gear, as you can see, my druid in my sig is wearing it.
Also: Madexx probably isn't listed as Madexx in the files. He could be under scorpion or as a horde guild mount option. I haven't gone looking for him so I can't say.

Tyger, have they gotten rid of that ugly splashscreen they added recently yet? Waste of resources if ya' ask me. :P

Madexx is a color variation of 'hordescorpid' I think...while Sambas isn't in yet, 'alliancelion' only has the armored version.

Ziarre, did you use WMV to make your sig because I can't find any of that armour or a horde scorpid in the database, is there a file I should be importing or something?

I've also got the newest version of WMV, but still unable to locate the Alliance Lion or Horde Scorpion from it. I have not tried tier pieces though, need to give it a look once I'm done with my dailies.
Edit: One thing I have noticed though. I found the stone drakes from the list, but the mount model does not have correct animations. It only has got the old drake animations listed, no walking or sitting/sleeping/etc. What's up with that?

You can't import characters from armory because the armory coding has changed.
I'm sure any program/website that read the old armory probably has to update their work to support the new armory.
I made a couple of sigs for people on here and they wanted me to use the armor they were wearing; I plugged it in piece by piece by searching for it. A bit of a tedious process, the hardest part being to try and match skin color, hair color, and facial expression, but the end result has turned out well.
If I remember right, when you're trying to find Sambas in WMV, I thought I remember someone on the forums mentioning that he can be found from the King in Uldum's pet or something like that.
And if the splashscreen=the load screen thing...then yeah, it's still there and still being ugly and useless. =P
The biggest thing I can suggest from my own personal experience is to make sure you're using the binary version and not the installer version. I've tried both and the binary is the only one that works consistently.

Yar, I made up my sig with WMV and GIMP. I'm using the r500 version of WMV--I downloaded the r506 version and deleted it because I couldn't find any of the Cataclysm armor in it. o_O;

Dang, I must be doing something wrong somewhere becuase I have the same version as you and I can't find any of that armour. Ok consider me an utter noob for a moment, when you download the rar file and extract it is there a particular location I should be putting it? also does it make a difference if you are on an eu server and not a us. btw thanks for the replies so far, much appreciated

Just FYI: Sambas's model can be found by viewing NPC 'Akhet', which uses the same model. Sadly, Madexx appears to be the only NPC with that model, so you'd have to find another way around, if the model's not on the list.

Thanks for the tip! There's just one problem I can't seem to be able to get around with Akhet. Whenever I try to open the model, the whole program crashes. >.<

Is both the WMV and WoW fully updated?

I've always just extracted mine to my desktop. Not sure if it actually makes a difference though.

By the way, is there a ModelViewer version that works on Mac yet? Last I checked there was not.

Andine: how would I know if both are up to date? I assume WoW is since I'm currently playing retail, as for WMV it seems to be the same version as other people have linked above so I'm assuming its up to date. I find it odd that I can't find models that other can though.
Tiger: Yes I've been extracting the WMV folder to the desktop too.
Hmmm, is there a way to import informations to WMV, I mean I thought it was accessing the WoW files anyway as I keep my WoW folder on my desktop too.

I don't know why this happens but whenever an item isn't there, I use wowhead.com, because they have a "uses same model as" option.
I always find another item this way, that looks just like the one missing.
The splash screen ist just an image in the folder.
Just replace it with something you like!
Yep, new armory is a pain in the a...ttic.
I pick items by hand when I have to get someones toon from the armory.
Even worse fpr me: My armory is in german, so I need to look for the item on the buffed.de database, because they have the original english name as well.
You don't even have the faintest idea, about how stupid some translations are...
And I've seen a newer DEV WORK version for download, so be prepared to check the site regularly for the a newer version of WMV soon.

Well I've searched through several model variants on wowhead and tried finding them in model viewer but whilst I can fine the named item its now showing the correct model. I have also found the npc dreadstalker who should share the same model as Madexx but the model on my version of WMV is that of a normal scorpid. As far as I can tell I'm using the WMV r500 binary version, heck I've even tried the r506 dev version.
