signed in just now to Sambas spawn point at victors point. nothing there as usual cos i just logged. i mount up and am about to fly north to other spawn points when the mobs finally loaded and there he was. addons going ape ****. but alas his name tag is grey. he was tagged. it was another hunter killing him. there was no1 else around either. just this douche bag, so he wasnt fighting another hunter for the tame.
was no point trying to save Sambas cos he hardly had any hp left. i havent bothered logging my worgen dk and asking the hunter cos im english and like most Englishmen i swear and he would be getting every swear word imaginable spammed at him.
so i might aswell ad Dwarves to the list of races that annoy me
Dwarves
Belfs
Gnomes
Nelfs.
im so sad.

D-:
He probably didn't know about the "no loot" thing. But still, he's a hunter..
Not all dwarves are terrible. My main hunter is a dwarfess... But I've met some nasty people on all races. I hope you find him again soon. I send all my WoW luck to you!

Ouch D: - it's bad enough seeing /anyone/ kill a tameable, but a Hunter, of all people?

well ya cant really get mad at him, since well it was HIS TAG. not yours. once its his mob he can do with it as he pleases be it tame or kill. but calling him a douche bag because he killed a spawn you were not camping (you said you just logging on) is just plain immature.
if no one else was around and none of my friends needed the tame i would a killed him to, just for the the timer.
its fine to come in and vent, but is there really a reason to start throwing names up and claiming that a "race" is bad lol.

Killing a rare tamable that many hunters desire, that DROPS NO LOOT, is a jackwagon thing to do...his tag or not. If he didn't intend to tame it, he should have found someone to tame it or left it alone.

^ - agree with Ziarre, but it's easily understandable that Demonium was ticked off at the time & perhaps had experienced several of that 'race' that took out hunter rares... also keep in mind as well that perhaps Sambas was up for a little while & he did ask around & in turn took out Sambas for the timer perhaps... wishful thinking? heh You'll get em', everyone gets their rares, just takes time & patience... & soda, & no sleep, & ... ... .....

Man, what a jerk. I'm not a fan of "killing a rare spawn for the timer" at all. You could kill it and 2 minutes later someone of the other faction/who just signed on could come up and want it and they will be back at square one because you were selfish enough to kill the spawn for no reason. (If you want to tame it/want a spawn time, why kill it? If you're not high enough level that doesn't mean that no other hunter can dare have the spawn until you do.)
Sorry for that, Demon. Now you have a time of death hopefully next time you'll catch him alive and well

I am sorry that happened, that really is painful to see. And I dont understand the whole "timer thing" Ive sat with rares for 20 minuetes before I found someone to tame it. A timer really isnt alot to go on cause of the vastness of that timer "6-24 hours".. killing it seems pointless to me, unless its 3 am in the morning and noone else is around. From what ive seen there usually alot of people camping Sambas so it was just a matter of time before someone came to want and tame it..

I've seen that when I was camping Skoll ..Ok it was 3am when I randomly logged in..but I did see Skoll he was right beside me along with two hunters killing him...it was sad but it was 3am I guess they didn't expect anyone to be camping him. *shrug*

Excuse me, but why the hell are you annoyed by all those races? Yes we all joke about gnomes but that's less really the gnomes and more the playerbase [seriously 95% of all gnomes I come into contact with were assholes pre shattering, outside of this LOVELY person who helped Yasindra get, well tried to help Yasindra get her achievements in for the stupid pvp childrens week ordeal.]
If you keep that up it's going to be -all- the races, instead of, ALL the players being the assholes.
And I also have belf, dwarf and nelf hunters. Well only one dwarf but, still.

Or they did and that's why they were killing him, or they tried to tame, weren't BM/Forgot he needed BM, roid raged and killed him. Or killed him because you need to be BM. There are ALOT of hunters who think they deserve to gank exotics or gank them out from under you because if they can't have it, you can't have it.
And while sadly I don't condone this behavior, if someone tried to steal a tame from me like what has been happening, I would go out and unload onto the pet. Because I am not going to reward an asshole by letting them steal my tame. And I don't care about the thought of 'one less asshole camping for Sambas' because if he would risk such a tame war with you in the first place, he or she would most likely do the same thing to others regardless.

Sounds to me like this hunter simply didn't know the significance of Sambas, and made the rational assumption with the limited information that he had that killing this rare lion would give him an achievement akin to Medium Rare or Northern Exposure. I am not asserting that this necessarily justifies his actions, but rather that his intent may not have been malicious. A hunter killing a non-exotic, unique, tamable rare out of malice when no one is around doesn't make sense. Either he really hates Sambas, or simply didn't realize the significance of Sambas.
Kudos to you for showing restraint by not saying anything to him when you knew you couldn't trust yourself to be polite.

That makes me sad, he didn't even have the excuss of "it aggroed on me" like a druid gave me today, since he could have easily ran and feigned. Oh a mage also told me today he just killed it because it's a rare.
They should have a buff on them that states "Tear of Loss: Drops No Loot."
-sigh-

There are plenty of valid points in this thread and honestly you don't know what was going through that hunters mind. Maybe they had Sambas already and thought there was an achieve to kill it. Maybe they did try to find someone else to tame it. Maybe they were killing it to start the timer again. Who knows. Only way to find out is ask them. Thats what I would do at least. You might be surprised by the answer.
I'm really sorry you lost the tame though. It will come though. Just takes time. Sambas is heavily camped right now so just try at an off peak time again and see what happens.

Hasn't every hunter had that happen... >.< I was after Duskstalker, rare, unique, and all that.. Now I know he's no epic tame or anything, but I was on my baby worgen and this was to be my second pet, and first rare, so I was eager. I get there, he's there, great! Just as I'm clicking tame, another hunter shoots him, and kills the thing. Needless to say I went off on him.
But, come to find out, he was new to playing a hunter, and maybe even wow. He had no real comprehension of 'rares' and their significance. So I toned down my squall to a teaching lesson, instructing him in the ways of proper hunter rare ediquette, and felt a bit bad that I had gone off on him so. (Though your hunter should have well known better by his lvl)
Had a fellow that appeared to start camping for 'The King' right on top of me. After a near 2 day camp, I was quick to fuss him out and try to shoo him off. He had actually just gone afk and parked for a few minutes to eat. It became a spitting match and no good came of it.
We met again the next day, and both seemed to agree that we wanted to get off on a better foot. Civility won out, and because of the new start, he became responcible for me knowing about and getting my oil wolf, and a lucrative mining deal. He had alliance toons, so he qued the feeding quest...
And that afternoon, I also got my King
So choosing your words carefully has it's merits, you may find yourself eating them later. Besides, and I know about the long painful camps, karma may just reward you tomorrow for what you do today. Sambas will return, and hopefully karma will smile on you.

there is no reason why he killed it call me immature but he could have just lefted it alone or said in Trade Chat cause thats how one of my friends tamed Karoma was some other hunter said that Karoma was spawned in trade chat. you don't have to kill it just cause its there.

You gotta remember some hunters only play the class to be a ranged DPS. Rares, pets and all that don't mean anything to them. They have their wolf or bear and that's all they need to get the job done of killing.
The type of hunter you'll never see on a forum like this.

Just because that hunter has their own way of playing doesn't mean they're a bad player, or cruel or anything. It just means this is how they enjoy playing THEIR game. Not all classes follow rules that others have made. Yes it's respectful to ask if someone else wants to tame him but it's not required. And how do you know that that hunter didn't ask or even check???? Did you ask them???? You're more then ready to spew colorful metaphors at someone thinking they took something from you or someone else but it doesn't appear that you even gave the respect back of asking if they had asked. You know what they say about ASSumptions.
My point is don't complain about someone playing the game the way they want to play it just because you don't like it and /or find it disrespectful. Yes it's sad Sambas was killed but it's not like the other hunter took it from you or seemingly anyone else since no one was around. Again it's not required of a hunter to find someone to tame a rare spawn just respectful and kind.

Call me crazy but killing a rare just because a pet doesn't matter to them is pretty thoughtless and cruel. You might wanna play BigBad Joe Sniper without his pet, but it won't hurt you to let the lion be.
