Old World Cat Love: Edit: Who to Keep, Who to Lose

So, I flew to Winterspring to do some arch. and thought huh, have never looked for Rak'shiri cat--flew up there. He was up. Tamed him. Thought eh, gorgeous cat, but not that great with my goblin and I already have CATS plural.
Then, I saw Shy-Rotam. Abandoned Rak and tamed Shy on a whim. And OMG he is gorgeous with his green eyes and funny colored little feets. He looks great with my goblin girl. And I am going to go tame me a red lynx. I love them so much. I need more stable slots....
How many of you are getting full stables and still wanting more pets? I need a dang farm at this point....
Old World Cats I have: white lion, Shy-Rotam, ghost saber: Of these, Amok, my ghost saber is the ONE pet I have that I would choose if I had only one to keep.
Old World Cats I Want to get and keep but no longer have room:
1. another red lynx (how many have I had and had to make hard choices and let go?)
2. The pure white cat from Winterspring--gorgeous animal
3. black lion, even if they ruined poor Humar with the one in the Basin (which was a bad idea in my opinion: Human shoulda remained the ONLY black lion)
Pets that I may have to Release soon:
1. Sambas--the model is ok if a bit vacant looking to me? And NOT a fan of his coloration, and his muteness
2. White Gorilla: rare, but never take him out
3. One or both of my rare parrots (mini-wing look alike and Aotona): great looks but will I ever use really?
4. monkey going bye-bye? Thought I might keep one to use in pvp--probably not happening
Already released:
1. The purple spawned croc--only need one croc and have the ghost hydra
2. ghosty two headed bird--eh for me
3. oily wolf and bird--did not click for me
4. brown Madexx: when I got my green
5. LOTS of others who have come and gone
To Keep Forever:
1. Amok, white ghost saber
2. Doofus: Karoma
3. Bisque, Ghostcrawler
4. Shalimar, white lion
5. Menageatrois: ghost hydra
6. Tourmaline: Chromagus
7. Scorpius: Green Madexx
8: Origami: Princess Hurahan boss wasp
9. Chakra: Loque
I would probably put all my spirit beasts on this list, but:
If you today had to choose only one pet in your stable to keep, which would it be?
My answer: Amok, my ghost saber. You?

Getting quite full and wanting many more. I told my husband the other day that I wouldn't care if they started charging hundreds or even thousands of gold per extra stable slot.. I'd totally save up and buy them hahaha. I love pets. >.<

Grats on your kitteh!!! I'm not quite to that point yet, I think I have two or three empty slots and if I absolutely had to, I could probably let a couple of my pets go since they never get used. I'm not about to complain about having 25 stable slots. I mean, going from a measly 5 to 25 is awesome! Not saying that anyone is complaining, don't take that the wrong way! I just meant that I personally would rather have a white Sambas (hint hint Lurker!

...I'm shameless) than more stable slots.

I have a soft spot for Humar, even though I'm not overly crazy about the lion model. He was the very first rare I camped for, way back in Vanilla WoW on my first Horde character, a male tauren hunter. That was my first taste of 'the hunt'...I sat beneath that tree for 4 hours until he spawned. What a thrill! My boyfriend thought I was crazy...little did I know the insane camps I would endure in the future.

4 hours is a walk in the park, lol. Anyways...there's always that fond nostalgia towards him, and I have him on my troll hunter due to that.

I guess not really 'old world' as they only came in WotLK, but regardless this is the only cat I've ever had stick with me and it was completely by accident. x) I love the dreadsaber model now though.

Saw this and just HAD to comment. Those new fangeled cats are cool and all but none have stolen my heart like a couple old world rares did. Like Veph both where tamed on a whim and they just etched so deep into me that I cannot see myself without them.
One is my boy The Rake. I've had him a really long time on my horde main Rexiah (troll) and I released him and then without intentions of really getting him back I happened to be heading to Mulgore and saw him on my mini map and as soon as I landed I told my friend to wait, mounted up and took off without a real worse. I may have been a good twenty or so levels above him but I was seriously nervous about him getting killed. I finay find him and it was love all over again. I tamed him and he's never left my side since and is a "go to" pet all the time.
The other is my girl Araga. Her I tamed out of the blue also except I was looking for her for a guildie. It was really late at night and I was flying over (way way way pre-Cata) and looked for her red dot and there she was. I mount up and on my way on g-chat yell ARAGA and wait for the person who wanted her to respond and silence. I look at the guild roster and I'm the only one on and here is Araga staring me in the face and trying to rip it off. This was my first time ever seeing her in the wild and only my second seeing her period in my six years of playing. I tamed her full on not expecting to fall in love with her but I fell head over heals and since then she's never left my side. She's been with me like Rake for easily a good 25-30 levels and Rake has been with me for longer.
Sorry to be long winded but I love these two cats a whole lot and just had to share. Sorry to take so much time. Lol

Old word cats n_n
Mine is simple. Level 7 Nightsaber Stalker from Teldrassil. He was the first pet I tamed. Wasn't exactly love at first sight, but he grew on me and I've had him since I started playing... which was many many years ago lol. He's always with me and my #1 choice for questing/soloing/raiding/sitting in a city somewhere.

The first cat I ever had was a solid white from Winterspring. I've tried taming other cats since then, but I always come back to my original choice.
edit: The one I would keep would be Ghostcrawler, who convinced me to actually try for a spirit beast, and is my favorite rare. But I really love my tan beetle, too.

Yes, so many great cats out there. And so not complaining about our lovely 25 spots, there are just a few more I want and so few pets I have that I feel good about releasing to open slots up.

On my first hunter, my night elf I mainly stuck around wolves and the like till about 36, got a swamp of sorrows Jaguar and absolutely loved him. Sadly.. once hitting 60 in Vanilla, I had found a new love in the form of an aqua striped cat. I worked my butt off to find a horde friend who kept the quest for Shy'rotam (Cause I didn't seem to have any luck getting Rakshiri). Well needless to say, he's stayed with me through the years.
Mm.. the ghost saber is really cute too, I love anything ghostly, but they never clicked with me.
The more recent cats are very pretty, but none are quite striking. (Well besides Sambas, but yeah. ;P)
I have almost succeeded in filling the stables of my level 85 hunter, only maybe two(ish) slots left? Hah. I've just started on my Blood elf's pet hunt though.. Mwahaha.
As for the one pet that I had to choose to keep..
Well, for Fawny it would be Moonglow, otherwise known as Shy'rotam. I have so much history with him, not to mention memories, it'd hurt to lose him.

I've never been a cat fan. I picked up Siam-Rotan a long while ago when I was searching for my first official 'raid pet', but we never clicked. Even now, I have a Sambas in my stable, and the poor beauty never gets to come out. I love the models, but they just don't click with me for keeping. Maybe a holdover from 'Cat or GTFO' days....
As for the full stables, I have two empty slots, and a few redundant pets (two Spirit Beasts, two Birds Of Prey) that I could probably lose to make space for more. I can't say for a fact that 25 slots will always be 'enough' for me, but at the moment it suits me well enough. ... at the moment.
Maybe the next patch where some rares are returned, and new ones added, I will regret ever saying those words...

Personally, I would release all four no questions asked. My monkey annoyed the bahjesus out of me with it's noises and it was just scary looking. But really the kicker for me is if I am not attached to them then there is no sense in allowing them to collect dust in my stables when I could tame another pet in it's place whom I may completely adore. I say release all four. Sure they may be pretty but if you're not attached no sense on keeping them.
And who would I keep. On Rexiah it would be The Rake. Hands down. On Giordana it's Skoll. I <3 that wolf. I won't go down the list of my hunters but those two girls are my mains.

I really wanted to love the monkey, truly. But I just, don't. Which makes me sad since I have the little Bananas mini-pet a friend got for me. But the monkey and sea gull just have odd looks and animations to me. And I wanted to love them both.

You can't force yourself to love somebody; stop trying to and move on.

My stable is now completely full. So yeah, a fully fledged farm would be welcome
Though there's a few pets I wouldn't be overly sad about releasing: the oily wolf, my brilliant macaw, numaroc, echeyakee, my newly acquired moth and the flaming boar (though I'd rather want to keep that for show).
Pets I'd never want to lose would be my ghost saber (he's been with me since I was ~lvl20), arcturis (my very first spirit beast), shy-rotam (starting to really like her), skoll, terrorpene and king krush.
I wouldn't want to get rid of my blue madexx or sambas either, but that's mostly due to the crazy amount of time I spent trying to find them.

Oh god, don't even make me think about it, it would be SO FRIKKIN hard!

But I guess I have to say my Humar, he was my first rare, and I tamed him and gone through the pain in leveling him from like 10-15lvls under me. He stayed by my side for all the time up to 80, when I found Loque. If I could keep two, it would be Loque and Humar, no doubt.
Don't really feel I lack stable slots though. I have like 24/25 pets now, but one will go whenever I can choose which colour I want, and if some rare or good-looking pet comes up in the future, I have pets I wouldn't feel too bad abandoning for it. I have made a small list, and I have about 13-14 never-letting-go-pets, so that's a pretty nice number after all, since it's only half the stable.

Out of all the rares in the game, my favorite has always been Humar. He was the first rare I camped in Vanilla, and for a long time, I would use him as a rite of passage for every hunter I played - upon reaching lvl 23, they would tame him. Even my now race/faction changed hunter still has his Humar, though he had retamed the lion at 70 in BC and lvled him up from there. I've been known to just go see if he's up whenever I'm in Ratchet. I just say hi. My husband thinks I'm strange.
Other favorites are the purple-striped Winterspring cats, and Old Cliff Jumper (Not a cat, but he was a rare I used to camp for a lot. Now I can't find him at all).
I tamed Sambas on a whim, and was quite surprised with how much his model matches my hunter - same hair and eye color. Just because of that, he's become a favorite, and a pet I almost always have out.
It sounds like you know who you would like to drop in favor of taming more cats, so go for it!

Dang it, now I want to go tame Humar again--and get the red lynx. I swear I am going to roll another hunter who only collects cats! OMG we need to start a new thread asking how many of us have multiple hunters we play :}
