My cat fart, Iv'e had him for as long as iv'e known and hes finally on his death bed, I also really did mean it when iv'e known him all my life

when we got him as a kitten I was preatty much just born, and we aged together throughout each others lives, I treated him like I would any old human so that it got even as far as undering every single tail twitch, meow and look. how are we so linked together? as most people you see spwnding your time on the internet I was peacal. of course with that in my past, it was a hellhole at school all I did was cry because I had no friends and everyone hated me, when I told on them for thier bullying it only got worse and it was like that till gr.7 where I was even still bullied quite the bit. the only friend that stuck out for me and comfprted me? fart. whenever I would come home he would comfort meowing and purring spending time with me I would always pet and spoil him and in return he loved me. Of course now i'm fourteen years old which leaves fart on his deathbed.
Recently he was stuck in the basement for two days because he lost his vision, I was getting worried so I looked for him only to find him sleeping in the basement I had to pick him out and put him in front of his food dish for him to eat it, I also nodiced that when I came down he was meowing as loud as he could although I was near him, he was lonley and wanted someone to be with him, hes also starting to loose weight and hes not going to live much longer...I- I just don't know what to do, were like soul mates pretty much weve been the whole 14 years
and now hes finally going.
i'm sorry if placeing my vent disturbs you but I really just don't know what to do, I loved him like we were related in blood

EDIT: fart seems to be feeling better after a few days of bringing him his water and food, he now gets up himself and walks to his food and water he laso gets up to greet me more and meowing alot like usual, did he EVER get me worried

Ruby....

Aww....

*hugs, even though she really doesn't like hugs. You deserve it.*

I know what you mean. Like you, I had a cat who I've known since...as long as I remember. Catherine was always jokingly called the Demon Cat, cause she caused chaos, and Squeakers by me because she would always make a quiet, 'mewp!' sound when you pet her.

She died of a throat tumor, so she starting hacking, making throaty, wet breathing and her purring was loud and painful. She couldn't eat.

So think of it this way, Ruby. Fart and Catherine are going to be chilling up in a safe, warm place, where they can play, and eat, and do as they please. But they will always be watching over us, patient, waiting for us to rejoin them.

He will never, ever, ever be gone as long as you remember him, okay?

Just because you're different species doesn't mean you aren't family. Love is love and it crosses every boundaries known to man and animal kind. Never let that go. You will have to let him go in body only but not in spirit, heart and mind. Those will live forever.
It won't be easy. But you'll be ok.
 to you. We're here for you whenever you need us.

My family had a cat I loved very much, and she only finally died--at a very old age, and without any warning--when I'd moved out from home the second time. I still feel like that cat was sort of a guardian, and only died when I no longer needed looking after.

Maybe it's a stretch, but it might help to look at it from that sort of a point of view--we never know whether there's such a thing as fate.
