Anyone else unable to get the launcher to work?

It's been failing for me, for some reason. At least you can just go to the WoW folder and start it up directly.. Still weird, and annoying, though...

Very. It's like it cant connect to any blizzard servers. I know its maintenance day but usually the launcher and everything still goes through.

I kind of (Okay, highly) doubt it's cause it's maintenance day, since the launcher wasn't working for me yesterday either... Wonder what's going on..

Hm. Launcher worked fine for me yesterday but that doesn't mean it didn't screw up for others. I too am curious to whats going on.

I think it is still server related. The script to start up Wow is activating the launcher that checks for patches first and then starts up the game. The patch process seems to be down. Going directly to the game launcher bypasses that step.

Not entirely. You try to log on and it says "Cannot connect to server" so i think it's more than that perhaps.

I agee with you.. Just tried it and get the same thing. I can't get into the game either.

Yeah but usually the launcher still works and you can see the list of servers even during maintenance.

Oh thank $deity it's not just me. I was about 30 seconds away from screaming bloody murder and doing Bad Things to my firewall-- but this makes me suspect Blizzard dropped a couple 0s somewhere, which is not my problem! Hooray!

We're probably not getting the patch today, btw; there's a new build going to the PTR today (a big one!), so it's unlikely that what's already there is going live.

The patch is definitely not going live today, a new PTR build went up I believe.

Anyways, if I may, I would like to suggest a few ideas for the launcher-problem people?

Sometimes when launcher fails to launch, another version of it is 'already running'. Don't ask me why or how, it just happens to me at least once a month.

My suggestion is (if youre on windows), is to right click your bar and select your task manager. Make sure that the WoW program and the Blizzard Launcher are not already running. They'll usually be listed as WoW.exe or Blizzard Launcher.exe or something in the task manager list of "Processes".

Once you've made sure those programs are ended, try running WoW and/or the launcher again.

If this still doesn't work, make sure that your WoW and Blizzard launcher isn't running again in the task manager, but this time, right click your WoW icon and select "Run as Administrator".

Usually one of these solves my launcher problems. Hopefully your issues are already solved, since it seems the launcher is working fine for me.

I got the same message, too. But as of right now the problem is gone and I can get the launcher up.

However the servers are still down... so...
