Can any Alliance player get...

A screenshot, aerial if possible, showing the exact location of this mob?

As a Horde, I can't see it, and I want to test something. It's in a phased zone, so there's 0 way for me to get access to it! I just need a screenshot showing EXACTLY where it is >.<

Thanks in advance!

Hmm - maybe you could get another Petopian to create a Night Elf or Worgen, and go find the coordinates for you on your server?

I have the coordinates, but even that's a bit unexact :( Am hoping for a screenshot so I can try and use the terrain to be 100% accurate, but it's not a big deal in the end

I'll go jump over there and see if he is out. But I think you have to be on a quest to see him...

I think so, yeah :(

I think there was already a thread about this when they where first found. Although flagged tamable, they are friendly to alliance, and alliance cannot be tamed, and they only appear to the person on the quest. So, there is no way at this time for Horde or Alliance to tame it. Sorry.

"This cat appears as part of an Alliance-only phased quest chain, and is flagged "friendly" to Alliance players. So unfortunately for Hunters, that means it's not tamable to anyone."

Yeah, I can't seem to get the quest to see him on my 85 hunter, apologies. And my lowbies are nowhere near the area where I could get there right now.

Correction: no way at that time. However, I think I know what Acherontia has in mind, and it certainly would require precision.

It's phased.....means you need the quest.

Horde cant get quest and its friendly to alliance. Means not tameable.

EDIT: Sorry if that sounded mean. ^^;

I think before you try this that you may wish to try it on other phased things. Make sure it's not just a glitch with those particular beetles or with Uldum itself!

True. An easy place to start would be the hunched, red-eyed tigers in Neferset City, but that's in Uldum anyhow.

Idd, if they really are "phased" as such. It'd require PvP-flagging, I think, and some very careful positioning.

I VERY much doubt it would work but worth a shot anyway, so if anyone DOES happen to do the quest on an alt or something, wtb screenshot :)

And Taluwen--there's certain things that supposedly work across phasing.

I know how it works, as stated in my first post I'm aware Horde can't see them.

And yeah Kurasu--I don't know if it works or not, but would like a screen regardless--can't hurt to try.

Update: it's doable on phased mobs, with timing, traps and trickery. Still, doubt it's doable if it's in a phase I can NEVER see... but once again, never hurts to try. I may just do it on an ally alt myself, anyone know how far along in the chain it is?

If I remember correctly, this mob is actually not just "phased". It's more like "invisible" (think of that spirit tiger quest in Exodar, you can only see that spirit in the 'spirit world' while you're technically invisible to everyone else).

Even if you managed to flag pvp and get an ally to help, I doubt you would be able to tame this beast due to its ties to the actual quest itself. Its a different kind of phasing then that of the above shaggy desert wolf.

However, I'm doing the old darkshore quests right now, so if I come across it, I'll submit screenshot/info.

But again: this is in Uldum. Can you do it in any places *other* than Uldum?

It isn't zone-specific, it's a matter of tricking the phasing. Remind me, where else is there phasing, I'll give it a shot?

Thanks for the info/help Rikaku :)

Ok so I found the quest, and the mob. Give me about 2-5 mins to update the info here.

Ok so this guy is about 15 quests in according to my Darkshore quest achievement tracker.

You can't get a high aerial view of this guy because he is just like the spirits in Azuremyst. In others it's not a phase like the phased areas of Uldum. Rather its a phase in which you need a buff to be there.

He is friendly, lvl 12 and a questgiver.

Picture from above: http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o270 ... 215714.jpg
Map location: http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o270 ... 220624.jpg

There is no way to get this npc out of this area as you would need to have the buff to access this area, and this is an Alliance quest only. So I think you may be out of luck :(

What about those... spiders? I think in Icecrown during the beginning part of working with the Argent there. They phase out after the giant attack where you have to use the cannons to stop all the scourge from attacking the camp. I don't remember ever checking if you can still "see" them with Track Beasts.

Oooh, thanks so much Rikaku. So when you say "need to have the buff to access this area," and "Rather its a phase in which you need a buff to be there"--just so I'm 100% on this, you mean there's actually a buff on your char enabling you to see the stuff, right?

If so then you're absolutely right and I'm outta luck! Thanks a ton for posting these regardless though :D

Edit--I suppose you could lay a trap under it, then get MC'd by a priest who is on the quest (or anyone with an MC cap perhaps) and then when it's cancelled, see if the trap triggers--or if you can Tame if it becomes visible--as the MC is cancelled. Just as a sort of proof-of-concept thing I guess >.< I'm actually guessing it isn't aggressive to Horde, though, considering there's no PvP tag on it.

I HUGELY doubt the last idea's possible, but it's the last thought I've got on the topic.
