Gyreworms take a step backwards...

Looks like any hope of these guys becoming tameable is being removed. All the gyreworms in deepholm have now become elementals instead of beasts.
A fun place to chat about hunter pets in the World of Warcraft.

Tbh they weren't that different from Shale Spiders- as if you look closely at the squeakers, the squeakers aren't really one piece of rock. It's a main body with a collection of other rocks for legs, eyes and fangs. But i don't mind since Deepholm and Uldum and even Ulduar and Uldaman prove that even if my spider looks wonky, if it ever was afflicted by Curse of Flesh it'd be a normal Spider!Vephriel wrote:I suppose it's kind of them to do that so that people don't get their hopes up.
Truthfully I couldn't see them as pets, they don't even look....remotely alive or beast-like in any way. I realize Shale Spiders are sort of the elephant in the room, though slightly less bad than the Gyreworms. Personally I can't attach to Shale Spiders at all and don't care for them, as cute as they are, for a hunter pet. Still, Gyreworms were even more out of the question for my own tastes.
I will say I'm sorry for everyone who was hoping they would be tameable though. I wouldn't have any problems seeing them become a hunter pet, I would just never want one myself.
I agree with this wholeheartedly.Vephriel wrote:I suppose it's kind of them to do that so that people don't get their hopes up.

Yup, me too, I agree that they don't look remotely like animals, and thus can understand that they have been changed to elementals. That having been said, I would love it if they became tameable since from my hunters both a Goblin (who would adore them for the pure bling) and the new Draenei (who, being alien, seems to suit all sorts of weirdo creatures) would rush off to tame one as soon as possible.Taluwen wrote:I agree with this wholeheartedly.Vephriel wrote:I suppose it's kind of them to do that so that people don't get their hopes up.
