I just decided to get into the swing of things on a heroic training dummy to see if, in ideal conditions, how much dps I can pump out when not having to worry about mechanics, and I'm a bit confused as I don't know if pet numbers are stand alone or not. Anyways.

I logged onto Rosa after getting Recount again, unloaded onto a training raid dummy as well there's no heroic dummies I can find.

Rosalyn's damage peaked out at 7.1k, eased off into 6k
Deimos [Devilsaur and pet I used for the testing] damage peaked at about 2.4k, stayed at around 2.2k average.

This good, bad or what for an almost HC geared hunter?

Because Recount just says my numbers, it's like Gearscore FULL OF LIES AND CAKE.

Seems low, but then, you're probably BM, so you'll be low regardless.

Getting out Hector and my PvP gear (to be fair, cause my PvE gear has a bunch of epics in it now), I held steady at 10k. That's survival for ya. :/ Everything else is 1-2k behind.

Well if I was MM/SV and somehow using a devilsaur that would be so wrong anyways

Right! I wrote that sentence before noticing the devilsaur thing. xD

Gear is definitely on the low side. Anything under 333 is not good for heroics; people in mostly 318 loot were generally not pulling their weight. So let's get you some easy fixes!

- Drop the leather pieces. You're not getting your mail specialization bonus with those. That's 5% more agility!
- The pieces under ilevel 318 should also be upgraded before you even think about doing heroics. I'd say 318 is about the barest of minimums for a player doing heroics, but considering how much harder the instances are when you're in gear with stats that low, it's better to upgrade it all to 333.
- I'd still recommend a spirit beast for an easy free dps gain, just for the agility. Could try doing a test to see if that changes anything!

Yeah but usually when I go into a dungeon we have a: a war or b: a DK, only a couple times when we've had them in a pug not spamming Shout or Horn; I even make the tanks use shout when I bring Empress

oh hey Tank don't bother using your health shout, my silithid gives free stam buff!

And I think I'll do more questing before hitting your guide, Rosa's LW is only 480 and I'm not anywhere near getting the crap worth wearing and I'm not farming gold for upgrades. As if I was selling leather for 300g a stack before I started using it .. >.>

I'll probably do a bumpdate in a few weeks or something when she's off the back burner for more serious gearing up as got an alt to level and a pally to power to 85. Again.

*nod* Usually, the HoW buff is covered. It's more of a question of seeing your solo numbers with that buff instead of just the crit one.

Questing is good! There's all sorts of 333 ilevel quest rewards out there; I just didn't cover them in the guide. Basically, Twilight Highlands is good. Very good. And the regular 84-85 dungeons are good as well. Shouldn't be too bad once you get into it.

I'm sticking at about 10-12k on dummies as BM, if those numbers help. What you're doing is fine for heroics, although you may want to get hit-capped.

As far as Recount: if you go into Config (press the cogwheel when it's open), you can tick or untick Merge Pets. If it's Merged, you'll see your total; if it's not merged, the pet is SEPARATE. Hope this helps!

I'm ilevel 339 and on normals and heroics I do about 8-9k with BM.
As SV i'm doing a steady 11k with 12-14 on bosses. So you are a bit on the low side but i don;t know your ilevel.

For heroics your group should do around 25k dps.
