Are there any wolves that still howl ?

Getting into the level 85 instances now. I was wondering if there are any wolves that we can tame, which howl so you hear it, not just the howl animation with no sound. I have been looking up wolves on wowhead and reading the comments but I didn't see any mention of them still doing their howl.
I know a long, long, time ago I had a wolf who randomly would howl. Just don't remember which skin, and or if the wolves today even still how at all. Thanks for any help everyone!

The howling sound still seems to exist, I have a black wolf (Snarler specifically) on an alt. While we're standing around I'll hear the howl go off every now and then. I haven't witnessed the idle animation of the howl yet, but I haven't exactly been looking for it, and that's probably just RNG.

Like Veph said, the coyote model wolves will occasionally do the howl noise, sometimes along with the animation, sometimesnot. I imagine it's not something they have happen all the time because other players might complain. Then again, devilsaurs will roar more often than a wolf howls.

I think often the Idle animation does go off b/c it has such a long 'timer' after being idle to kick in. When I'm sitting in SW with my wolf in the AH he always does the sound with the animation, but he doesn't always do the animation with the sound.

It is random and no where near as often. I saw him do it once when I was running around in a dungeon in the last week. But the week before I sat for a good 15minutes waiting for him to do it to take a screenshot with no luck :/
I miss it.

my Armored Black War Wolf from the dungeon in hellfire does it quite often, it could just be mine tho.

I have never seen a worg model that howls? The armored ones howl??? The old model coyote ones still do for me--my Snarler does it quite often. And my brown one from Mulgore still barks if you click on him. But the worg models from BC and Wrath? I have never heard one of them howl! I would love it, as I love vocalizations on pets. My OCJ never does. Anybody know which do and which dont?

I tamed the three different coyote skins in mulgore, and snarler. Have not heard either howl, I did see the animation a couple times on the coyotes with no sound. Snarler hasn't even done the animation for me as I've been sitting around camping Jadefang. I guess its pretty random and I'm just unlucky right now heh.

The Mulgore coyote that barks when you click on him still howls occasionally.

Any old-world wolves will howl. The other wolves wont, however, atleast vocally.

I was JUST about to say "I recently tamed Snarler and fell in love with him, and he howls" - other than that I'm not sure of the others.
EDIT for missing end quote mark!

Which wolves qualify as old-world wolves? Just coyote models, or coyote models and some dire wolf models (not including armored dire wolf; that model is missing some dire wolf animations entirely)?

Coyote models, sorry.

I've never heard the dire wolf/worg howl....and I have a lot of them.

The standard worg models, including the armored one, don't do an idle howl.

Thanks, Taluwen and Tyger. Just one more question; does any pet with the coyote model howl, including Karoma? I know that I've had
my sombrero howl at times, and that doesn't really qualify as a hunter pet even!

I would assume that any coyote model can howl, however, I don't have Karoma so I can't confirm that.

Grimtotem wolf has the animation, but not the sound. Same for Karoma.

Thanks, Ziarre. No big surprise, but I figured I'd ask anyways.
