personally i think the hydra is cooler then slime but i hear from EVERONE that hydra sucks becuase the croaking he makes and how often he does it, but i dont think it would bother me but im kinda curious. if someone has a hydra and a webcam and you record his croaking for a while so i can can hear it? or find a video or something? youtube doesn't have anything!

I believe the croaking (actually more of a darth vader hiss) is the same for crocs, hydras and slimes.

Besides, why would you want to know this? You can't tame the hydra anymore.

Ah, ok then. But just go tame a random crocodile. The hissing sound is the same.

idk about that...i heard slimes dont make any noise, and crocs make noise every 2 minutes or so and i heard hydras make alot of noise all the time

Ah well, I never got one of those pets... I wouldn't know... I guess we should consider Mania the crocaslime/hydralisk expert. Love for the Den Mother.

i have the hydra but no webcam.
But she does her Hydra noise OFTEN. ive just counted and she grunts from 8-10 times a min. Normaly she will grunt twice then go quiet for 5-10 sec.
but as we speak my pet hydra went nuts and grunted like 6 times and a row XD (it comes with its idle animation and wont grunt when moving)

I dont know if anny hydra makes as much noise, i know the swimming fellas doesnt but there is one down in Blackfathom deeps (final boss) that dont walk much.
That might have changed but if it isent and it stand alot in one spot you might get an idea on how it sounds.

and yet again as we speak...my Hydra have just been quiet for almost 1 min 30 sec <.<...no wait... there she goes again XD;;

god her chatting is so random. can be constant or rarely.

Yeah, for some reason the hydra idle animations (noises included) are set to go off quite often. If they do put these in as pets for Cata, you can be sure Blizz will fix this. From a common person's point of view, it's just twinking the timers in the programming I'm guessing.

I have one also, not only the croaking is loud, but also the stomping around as it walks is loud.. Same noise as the corehound makes.. If they do come back out for tame in Cata.. I'm hoping they leave the old skin as unique and don't vanilla it up any

Well I have a ghost hydra, too. TO be honest, I don't really get bothered by his sounds. I just ignore it, really. And if it got to a point that I found it annoying, I would just turn off sound or turn the volume down or something real quick fix for those haters out there...

They still shake the screen, like Rhinos. Evil...

Are you sure,Saturo? Didn't they remove that a few patches ago? I know they still stomp,but I don't think the screen shakes anymore....

My hydra doesn't shake the screen...

As for the sound, I have no idea since I play muted. But I LOVE how the heads attack each other. So cute. XD

Edit: Lotokoth, where did you hear they might make it tameable for Cataclysm? I'm not doubting you, I just haven't heard anything of the sort, and I'm usually up on WoW news. I'd love to see a source.

Huh, that seems odd. Every time a Rhino or a Hydra runs past me, I hear the loud stomps and the screen shakes. It's probably not visible for the pets owner then.
