All good, some models are affected much more by lighting than others, and can look wildly different under different lighting.

Hi, I was looking at Coursers models and there is a look named "Brown & White Horse w/ Short Mane/Tail" and It says Magoo is the only one with this look. But the In-game model of Magoo doesn't have short mane/tail but instead have longer mane and it's the same model as "Brown & White".

I have included this, amongst others, a while back in a list of beasts that should be suggested for tamability.

Noted while leveling an alt hunter with Threads of Fate:

Maximus and Floki - two gargons that are the pets of Sara Wight in Revendreth - cannot actually be tamed as they give a 'creature is already controlled' error

Fiendish Stonestalker has the same issue, it's proving to be quite a challenge to find a gargon I can tame before level 60.

OK thanks. They definitely used to be tameable!

I need to correct levels for a lot of zone stuff on Petopia. At some point around launch it seems they set the min. level for most zone things to 50, when they were higher before. So most things will actually be tameable at 50.

Thanks for letting me know. I've reviewed the gargons, found one NPC we hadn't recorded before, and it looks like there are only 3-4 types that are tameable at 50:

I say "3-4" because it depends on whether you're doing Threads of Fate. If so, you won't ever see the Lurking Monitor, which phases out.

Update: I found a bunch more tameable gargons that have a level minimum of 50. It looks like you can find pretty much all colours at 50, even if you take Threads of Fate:

Happened to notice that Marshtide Steeds are considered 'Beasts'. They are not tameable, but they're a courser model. Sure they have a rider, but so do many/most of the saddled raptors!
Unlike their Horse counterpart, Stonard Kodo Beast, which is not marked as 'Beast' at all.
