So about 10 minutes ago, I was wandering Uldum, doing my daily rare patrol. As usual, I did not see Madexx anywhere. So, I decided to head over to Tanaris to hit up a dig site. On the way there, I noticed something odd in the mountain.

There were these 3 lizards who kept on walking away from each other, then running towards each other to create a strange triangle. I stopped to take a couple of pictures. I found them near the edge of Tanaris and Uldum. Near the B in Khatut's Tomb. But they might not be there on all servers.

Once I finished observing the critters, I dug up my fossils and headed back to Uldum. I wanted to check out the lizards one more time. Along the way I also saw some beetles that did the same thing, but sadly I didn't get a screenshot of that. Why? Because as I finished my rare patrol what did I see but Madexx!

Sure it was the brown one, and I didn't even like that one, but he actually looks rather pretty next to my tauren. Now I need a name for him. Or her. Might call her Maddy.

And now I have all the unique rares in Cataclysm and Northrend, plus a few BC and classic ones. Well...unless you count Madexx as 5 different rares. Then I'm missing 4.

Congrats on your tame! I to have noticed strange formations of critters in areas where rares spawn at. In TH for example. There are always those 5 cluckers in the X formation running around in the different spawn areas....weird....

I'm gonna go rub those lizards for luck.

Haha. Actually, after I found those lizards I found a few others. I found some beetles, which I was in the process of screen shotting so I could make a post elsewhere about them when I clicked my macro to target rares I'm looking for and suddenly I'm whispering myself that I found Madexx.

But not all the lizards were in Madexx's spawn area, some weren't. Pretty much anywhere in Uldum, if you see 3 critters of the same type, watch them a bit and eventually they will all run back to each other and make a triangle. It's really weird. And now I'm looking all over to see if I can see critters do stuff like that elsewhere.

And this reminds me of a couple of days ago, I signed on to look for Madexx, and I found Sambas. Apparently I find rares when I'm not looking for them. o_O

Oooh, I thought of a name for Madexx. I think I'll name her Layla. Corgan's girlfriend in the really old PC game, Septerra Core.

There's critters all over Uldum that do that formation. ^_^

Good luck! Hopefully they will bring you luck too. Just be sure not to hurt them. And if you take a screenshot of them, be sure to call the lizards as scorpids in the filename.

And thanks. She does look very nice against my Tauren. I'll admit, the only reason I didn't want this color was because it was going to become non-unique soon. Buuut the more I have her out the more I like her. I think she looks better than the other colors would.

Those lizards are pretty cool, can't say I've noticed this phenomenon, but that's just because I don't pay enough attention to critters in this game.

Yeah they are all over, they are plotting their world invasion. The critters will rise up i tell you! But also if you have your beast tracker and humanoid tracker turned on while in the madexx area the mobs there form patterns too, thought it was kinda odd, never seen mobs mobs placed like that.

that was so wierd, I was having some pretty bad luck trying to tame Madexx these past few days... in the last 3, i've seen the black version twice and attempted tame...in the middle both times, it was pulled and killed...I was clearly not happy about it...today, after reading these posts, I decided to check it out for the hell of it...I was on for maybe 15 mins, went around near all the confirmed spawn points, most had some little spiders or leopard scorpions around em...lo and behold, near the central spawn point, there were 3 horned lizards, 3 different colors, all separating and coming back together in different patterns...all of a sudden, they went out in in a wide triangle, came together, all heads pointing in...all of a sudden, off goes my NPCscan...there's Madexx, right next to me...again, its the black one, and i finally got to tame it with no interference... 4am this morning, steamwheedle cartel server....
